Here is some more digital artwork I have made. Only this time, here are two featuring our lovely siren of the Stradivarius, Michiru Kaiou. Enjoy!

As the rose petals flow around her, as the sun sets on the shores of Zack Island, Michiru Kaiou, our lovely siren of the Stradivarius, collected a few things after her sunset swim. As she has her violin next to her, right now, the only music she is hearing is when she puts a seashell next to her ear. 

Michiru: "The sea, my second home, so calm and so gentle, just like me. (giggles)"

Here is the same one. But the only difference is her swimsuit. In the last one, she was wearing a full black one-piece with a see-through front. In this one, straight from wardrobe of Kokoro from DOA, Our lovely siren, Michiru, is sporting the Starfruit bikini. Now she is truly one with the sea.

On the shores of Zack Island, Ami Mizuno, our lovely brainy beauty, Aquarius bikini and all, enjoying her time on the sandy beaches, with her books at tow, in case she has to either study or learn how to adapt in the jungle or communicate with the dolphins as she swims. Aside from her books, from her aforementioned time swimming, she found a blue clam with a shiny pearl inside. I wonder who she would give the clam to.

Ami: "Aside from my studies, being on the island is sure fun. I hope Cye likes my clam I picked up on my swim. I know that pearl will make our wishes come true, if you know what I mean? (giggles)"

Note: I took one of the images of Ami in a bikini and traced it over to make a line art, and on top of that, I alter her bikini to resemble Hitomi's Aquarius bikini, since this bikini suits her more than Hitomi herself. Brainy and beautiful to the last.

Just like with Ami, here are two more pieces of art I have made. But this time, these feature our lovely Amazonian beauty, Makoto Kino. Just like the last post, these were digitally remade, based on the artwork from the original artist. Without further ado, enjoy the latest work.

Even though she is the strongest and tomboyish of the Sailor Guardians, Makoto Kino isn't afraid to get in touch with her feminine side, as she tries to flirt with her noble counterpart, the thunder swordsman of courtesy, Sage Date. No man, even as mature and stoic as Sage, can't resist the beauty and sex appeal of Mako, especially in cute lingerie.

Jason's Gallery - Ami Mizuno Sexy Double Feature!

Behold! My latest artwork, and a bit digital, I might add. This time around, it is my favorite brainy Sailor Guardian, Ami Mizuno aka Sailor Mercury, coming out of her shell and embracing her femininity, as she reaches adulthood. Enjoy!

For someone who is very smart and gentle, Ami sure knows how to overcome her shyness and win over her possible boyfriend, let alone the gentle mariner of trust, Cye Mouri, and does it a way that is completely out of her comfort zone. And quite apparently, she ain't so shy now. Cye is lucky to have smart and sexiful girl like her. Not afraid to face the unknown, let alone in the bedroom.

American Sailor Moon aka Saban Moon Pilot!

 

Behold! For your viewing pleasure, we present to you, the unreleased pilot of the Toon Makers/Renaissance-Atlantic version of the Americanized version of Sailor Moon, aka Saban Moon. I am not making this up, someone has brought this pilot to light.

The Sailor Moon/Godzilla Connection Part III

Part 3: Coming Full Circle

At the peak of their success, Sailor Moon and Godzilla ended up with a few bumps in the road. For Sailor Moon, after the original dub of season 4 (aka Sailor Moon SuperS) and dubbing the 3 Sailor Moon movies, the English distributors let their licenses expire, thus preventing not only the dubbing of the other specials, including Ami's First Love, but most disturbing of all, but also the 5 and final season, Sailor Stars, among other things. No one back then will never know how an original English dub of Sailor Stars would sound like (although there were fandubs being made in response to this). Not even the S.O.S., the Save Our Sailors Campaign, which was instrumental for getting the rest of season 2, seasons 3 and 4 and the 3 movies dubbed, couldn't get it done this time. Afterwards, the S.O.S. campaign ended, just like Sailor Moon's time in the West at the time.

As for Godzilla, after Final Wars in 2004, at the peak of its 50th anniversary, the King of the Monsters went into hibernation once more, giving Toho some time to think about its franchise's immediate future.

For years, both Sailor Moon and Godzilla were dwelling in the crossroads, fearing that they would be ignored forever, since most of the fans have since moved on to other things like those in the Arrowverse, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, My Little Pony, and anything related to Pro-Wrestling (that is, if the dastardly MEEKMAHON didn't ruin it for us all). But like the old saying goes, wherever there's darkness, they will always be light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

It all began with a company known as FUNimation. Stationed in Texas (currently in Flower Mound) and founded by Gen Fukunaga, FUNimation was once the biggest names in distributing anime. Once a small company, FUNi grew into popularity after acquiring the rights to dub Dragon Ball Z after its time with Saban and Ocean Group when they dubbed it. And since then, they became a juggernaut when it comes to distributing anime and taking their dubs very seriously. Aside from DBZ, they also did dubs of my favorite animes like Baki the Grappler, Kiddy Grade, Blue Gender, Negima and some of the Lupin the 3rd movies and specials among other things. During that period, FUNimation did an online survey, stating what anime they will do next. One of those animes was Sailor Moon, which means doing all the movies, specials and all 5 seasons with, all uncut including the elusive 5th and final season, Sailor Stars. We have waited years for the day Sailor Moon gets redubbed. So much so, I use to do a video series on how FUNimation should redub Sailor Moon, which includes suggestion of voice actors, including Laura Bailey, who would've made a great Usagi (combining the silliness of Sana Kurata from Kodocha and the gentle nature of Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket) and have a serious tone for Haruka (deep, gorgeous voice, just like Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist, Alv from Kiddy Grade and Rayne from BloodRayne). Unfortunately, I have lost all my videos for that when I cleaned my computer of all those viruses, but that's another story. Anyway, we have waited and waited and waited and then, our prayers were answered, sort of.

On May 16, 2014, Sailor Moon got its distributor, but it wasn't FUNimation. The rights to dub Sailor Moon were now in the hands of the second known distributor of anime and manga, VIZ Media, which did dubs of animes like Ranma 1 1/2, Bleach, Naruto, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Zatch Bell!, Zoids, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge and the 3 Fatal Fury movies, among other things. This redub, along with Sailor Stars being dubbed for the first time, stays true to the original Japanese version, and completely uncut, no episodes skipped and no cousins angle with Haruka and Michiru. The voice acting isn't perfect, but I got the upmost respect to most of the voices, including those who did previous works in other anime and in gaming like those of Kate Higgins, Robbie Daymond, Michelle Ruff, Patrick Seitz, Veronica Taylor, Lauren Landa and Cherami Leigh (who guest-starred with Chuck Norris twice in Walker: Texas Ranger, for crying out loud). Around at the same time, Toei, on July 5, 2014, after so much delays, released Sailor Moon Crystal, a reimagining of the anime itself, but stays true to the original manga, no filler episodes whatsoever. Aside from redubbing the original, VIZ Media did a full dub of Sailor Moon Crystal itself. I know Stefan isn't crazy about the voice actors and the dub itself, but I will do a follow up blog about this and why the VIZ Media cast is a mixed bag. As for FUNimation, aside from sleeper hits like My Hero Academia, they have since been disgraced, not only denying the fact that they wanted to bring Sailor Moon back to the West (and been denying it ever since), but also due to the infighting amongst the voice actors regarding one voice actor, the voice of Edward Elric himself, Vic Mignogna. But that sad tale is for another time.

As for Godzilla, prior to his 3rd hiatus around its 50th Anniversary, especially with the release of Final Wars, something happened that was a bit long overdue, especially being a fan of the King of the Monsters himself. For years, all the Western Hemisphere ever saw was the 1956 recut of the original Japanese version starring Raymond Burr. But all that changed, starting on May 7, 2004, with a limited release coast-to-coast, of the original uncut Japanese version of Gojira itself by the art-house distributor, Rialto Pictures. It was a game changer, especially for all G-Fans in the West, who never saw the first movie in its original form. 2 years later, Classic Media released the original Gojira, along with the Americanized Godzilla: King of the Monsters on DVD, so those who have a DVD player can watch the original version at home and the original uncut version has been in circulation ever since, thanks the Criterion Collection.

Then, by 2014, and the height of its 60th Anniversary, Godzilla went Hollywood, yet again. Only this time, done by Legendary Pictures, in association with Warner Bros. And unlike the 1998 version, this version of Godzilla lived up to what its Japanese counterpart has established, atomic breath and loud roar and all. Not only Godzilla was badder than ever in this new age, but he also created a world that is almost as similar to their Japanese counterparts, with the inclusion of Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah, a Monsterverse, if you will. And there is one other good thing that came out of this, a reimagining of Godzilla epic fight with King Kong with Godzilla vs. Kong, which was a follow-up to Kong's reintroduction with Kong: Skull Island in 2017.

Meanwhile, back in Japan, Godzilla returns for a newer reboot called Shin Godzilla in 2016, which was inspired by the nuclear disaster at Fukushima after the tragic Earthquake/Tsunami disaster in March 2011. Everything else Godzilla-related after Shin Godzilla was done anime style, but I will let you see that for yourself.

In spite of all their shortcomings, a few bumps in the road, not to mention some divided fanbases, one thing is for sure, Sailor Moon and Godzilla are forever linked in the confines of history. No matter how hard you knock them down, they will always come back up. And as long as they are strong, devoted, not to mention respectable fans out there, the legend of the Pretty Suited Sailor Soldier of Love and Justice and the King of the Monsters will never truly die. And as a fan of both franchises, I mean it from the bottom of my heart, and I will forever be grateful. Now you imagine Ronin Warriors get involved in such stories like this. But that story, is for another time.

The Sailor Moon/Godzilla Connection Part II

Part II: Rise of the Monster King!!

It was the year 1954, 9 years after the end of World War II. Japan was reeling ever since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As the country slowly recovers, a lowly movie producer, Tomoyuki Tanaka, tried to pitch his movie, which was a Japanese/Indonesian co-production. But after the war, Indonesia demanded compensation from Japan because of their occupation at the time, thus killing off the movie he planned to make. As he took the plane ride home, Tanaka looked at the Pacific Ocean and saw another key moment that changed everything. The Japanese fishing boat, the Lucky Dragon No. 5, was caught in a fallout after the U.S. Navy was conducting hydrogen bomb tests off the Pacific islands, including Bikini Atoll. Many of the crew either died or suffered from radiation poisoning from the fallout, along with their fish being contaminated. As he returned to Japan, Tanaka turns to his superiors of the famed Japanese movie company, Toho, about his inspiration of the creation of his next movie. He thought that what if, what if a prehistoric monster was awaken by nuclear testing and vents its rage on Japan. After the green light from Toho, Tanaka got working on his creation. With the aid of director Ishiro Honda, composer Akira Ifukube and special effects designer Eiji Tsuburaya (who later formed his own company and created another famed Japanese icon, Ultraman) and inspired by King Kong and The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, Tanaka gave birth to the very creature that will become the legendary King of the Monsters himself, Godzilla.

Released in October 27 in Nagoya and later to all of Japan later on November 3 of 1954, the original Gojira was the first of many. Unlike the later movies, this movie is a reflection of all the real-life moments that recently happened regarding nuclear power gone wrong. When Godzilla was created, he was the personification of all nuclear weapons that ravages the very country who experienced it firsthand. A living, breathing natural disaster that cannot be stopped (unless it's from an Oxygen Destroyer). Even though this was the first movie (not to mention a poorly rushed sequel was released one year later in 1955 with Godzilla Raids Again), the King of Monsters' real journey didn't truly begin until 2 years later.

In 1955, a man named Edmund Goldman approached Toho's Los Angeles-based subsidiary in purchasing the rights for the original Gojira. After being shown some advertisement material and seeing the film himself, Goldman offered Toho $25,000 for the rights of the movie (which they easily accept). Through negotiations, promotions, edits and lots of red tape to cut, Goldman, along with others like Paul Schreibman, Harold Ross, Richard Kay and Joseph E. Levine, the remade version, Godzilla: King of the Monsters! was created and released in April of 1956. Unlike the original, this was 80 minutes long compared to the original 90-minute original version, most of the scenes were dubbed to English, references to nuclear testing, post-war trauma and such was removed (although Godzilla's creation by the H-bomb was mentioned in this version, along with a young widow with her kids fearing their inevitable doom), and above all else, new scenes with different actors, including the future Perry Mason, Raymond Burr, as reporter Steve Martin (way before the real Steve Martin came to be).

$2,000,000 later in the box office (which was cheaper back in those days), this version of the original Godzilla wasn't well-received when it first came out. However, after Godzilla: King of the Monsters! followed by the release of the poorly dubbed Godzilla Raids Again (under the alternate name, Gigantis the Fire Monster), along with the creation of other Toho movie monsters like Rodan and Mothra, in 1962, Godzilla, after a short hibernation, returns in King Kong vs. Godzilla, where the King of the Monsters himself fought against the very monster that was one of many inspirations, King Kong. Later on in 1964, Godzilla faces off against Mothra in Mothra vs. Godzilla (or Godzilla vs. The Thing in international releases, which was a shmaltzy title, anyway), and then with Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster in 1964, where Godzilla, along with Mothra and Rodan team up to fight against the evil space monster, King Ghidorah. During that time, Godzilla was in a transitional period. From Ghidorah onward, Godzilla went from an allegory for nuclear weapons to a heroic monster defending Tokyo (and mostly the world) from other monsters, whether by experiments gone wrong to invaders from space. From 1954 to 1975, this era of Godzilla movies was known as the Showa Era. Godzilla went through many changes. Aside from being a defender of Earth, he was an environmentalist (which was displayed in Godzilla vs. Hedorah), a father (first displayed in Son of Godzilla, where he tends to his dopey-eyed son, Minilla or Minya for short) and a cartoon superstar in the late 1970s/early 1980s, thanks in part by Hanna-Barbera (unless you live in Japan to hear his classic roar, those in the Western Hemisphere will hear the roars of Ted Cassidy, who also did the roars for The Incredible Hulk in the 70s TV show of the same name). The king of all monsters was far off away from the nuclear nightmare he was displayed back in 1954. Godzilla became a symbol of Japan's strength and resurrection, and a role model to kids, almost like another giant movie monster with that same reputation, Gamera. However, after Terror of Mechagodzilla in 1975, Godzilla swam away to the proverbial sunset, thus ending the Showa series, giving him a long break...until the new decade came.

In 1984, around his 30th anniversary, Godzilla returns to his dark, destructive roots in The Return of Godzilla or just simply Godzilla, ignoring the previous movies altogether except for the first one. And just like the original King of the Monsters, one year later, The Return of Godzilla was re-edited with scenes featuring the return of Raymond Burr (who was doing the Perry Mason Made-For-TV movies at the time), under its renamed title, Godzilla 1985. After this one, the rest of the movies is just one big arc, simply known as the Heisei series. One more after another, the Japanese government try everything in their power to stop Godzilla, or any other monster that threatens Tokyo and possibly the world. From classic foes like Mothra, Rodan, Mechagodzilla and King Ghidorah (with a new origin story, which involves time travel), to newer ones like Biollante, Batra and SpaceGodzilla. Everything comes to ahead in 1995, a year after its 40th anniversary, with Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, which brings it full circle, especially with the very monster spawned from the Oxygen Destroyer, the very weapon that killed the original Godzilla,

DESTOROYAH!! (Sorry, a little AVN reference right there but you get the point).

Godzilla vs. Destoroyah was quite a big deal back then, especially when hearing it on the news that Godzilla was going to die in this movie, thinking that the series would come to an end, and I mean, "THE end".

Zilla: The Godzilla That Wasn't!

In 1998, a few years after the last movie of the Heisei series, Tri-Star acquired the rights to Godzilla at the time and place it on the hands of the same people who did Independence Day. And let's just say, this movie, despite making lots of money at the box office, didn't live up to the original. This version of Godzilla has no atomic breath, runs and hides from everything, and his roar is like he swallowed SpaceGodzilla. That, and laying eggs and hatching up rejects from Jurassic Park. Although this movie was bad, it did bring us a cartoon that was far better than the movie itself, but that's another story. As for the monster itself, this version of Godzilla was originally addressed as GINO (Godzilla in name only) until he got his official name by Toho, Zilla.

In response to the failure of the 98 Godzilla movie, Toho decided to bring Godzilla back in 1999 with Godzilla 2000: Millenium or Godzilla 2000 for short. Afterwards, more Godzilla movies were released in this new decade, known as the Millenium series. Unlike the previous series of movies, the movies of the Millenium series were all different stories, different continuities, which all linked to the first movie itself. For instance, in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus, Godzilla was never destroyed by the Oxygen Destroyer, he went into hiding after destroying Tokyo in 1954 until reemerging a decade later. Another example is in GMK (Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack), where Godzilla was depicted as the essence of dead soldiers from World War II, bringing vengeance to the world and King Ghidorah, originally an evil monster, was depicted as one of the three guardian monsters, alongside Mothra and Baragon, fighting to protect the Earth from Godzilla. The only two movies in the Millenium series that has a continuing storyarc are Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (where Mechagodzilla was called Kiryu) and Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (which ties its story with that of the original Mothra). The series ends in 2004, right around its 50th Anniversary, with this series' version of Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla: Final Wars. Godzilla fighting every monster sent by the Xilians, especially Zilla, who dispatched him in rather quick fashion. Just like with the Showa series and unlike the Heisei series, Godzilla, along with his son, Minilla, headed off into the sunset, knowing that his exploits, for the time being, has come to an end...for now.

The Sailor Moon/Godzilla Connection! Part 1

 

Two Japanese icons, one similar yet different journey!

With VIZ Media owning the rights to the English distribution, especially redubbing the original anime, Sailor Moon is now getting the proper dub it rightfully deserves (for the most part, anyway). However, even though we got the redub of the original and the dub of its reboot, Sailor Moon Crystal, there have been many divisions within the fanbase, when it comes to which voice cast is better. While I mostly agree that it wasn't a great masterpiece, but we got to give the original English dub credit for bringing Sailor Moon to the West in the first place. The way I see, this story draws parallels to another famed Japanese icon that we all know.

Path 1 - Journey of the Pretty Suited Moon Rabbit!

The brainchild of Naoko Takeuchi, Sailor Moon started off as a sequel to her earlier work, Codename: Sailor V.

But it quickly became an international phenomenon that matches those other media franchises in the 1980s, Super Sentai and even other animes we all know and love. Since 1992, Sailor Moon is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest icons in the history of anime and manga. Although early shojo animes started this trend, but Moonface herself perfected it to a "T", especially with other shows like Cardcaptor Sakura and Tokyo Mew Mew, among others. However, around the mid 1990s, Sailor Moon's path to the West wasn't an easy one. It all started with Toon Makers doing their own version of Sailor Moon, which was a blend of animation and live action. So much so, some fans call this version, "Saban Moon", because of claims that it was made by Saban. But the idea was scrapped, although there was footage of that intro of Saban Moon at a convention long ago, but it was poor quality.

But, that didn't stop other companies from trying to get a shot in doing an English adaptation of Sailor Moon. One of them was the famed animation company, DIC Entertainment.

DIC! 'Nuff said.

DIC, in the French tongue, is an acronym for "Diffusion, Informacion et Communicacion", which translates to, "Diffusion, Information and Communication." DIC is one of the famed companies that made cartoons in the 1980s into the new millennium, next to the likes of Saban, Hanna-Barbera, Ruby-Spears and Disney. Known for such shows as, Heathcliff, Inspector Gadget, The Littles, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show (YAHOO!!), Captain N, the 3 Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons, Double Dragon, Street Sharks, Extreme Dinosaurs, M.A.S.K., Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors and so on and so forth.

As they plan to release the English dub, DIC released their over the top themed promo, saying that it is the biggest thing that hits the West since Power Rangers.

As the English dub came out, anime, as a whole, wasn't exactly full time mainstream yet. This was before we were introduced to Toonami. Anyway, like many anime that came and went, such as Robotech and Voltron, which used other anime, different from one another to make one story, the original English dub of Sailor Moon was not without its faults.

For starters, certain episodes from the original Japanese version were missing, due to certain culture differences, for example, in episode 2 (the real episode 2 from the original) had not just satanic images on the tarot cards from our Monster of the Week, but in one scene, Umino, who was possessed by the aforementioned Youma, lifted up Ms. Haruna's skirt. And in episode 5 from the original, possessed by the Chanela, Shingo kicked Luna in a rather cruel manner. PETA would've had a field day with this if this was aired back then. And in episode 6, Usagi, by means of her transformation pen, disguises herself as an adult (a very, curvy, sexy adult). But, it is not just some of the episodes were missing, they merged the last 2 episodes of season 1 into one. Not to mention the fact that, aside from Nephrite's death among other things, death was omitted, just like in the original Ocean dub of Dragon Ball Z, saying that the Sailor Scouts were captured by the Negaverse, almost like saying that our heroes or villains were sent to another dimension, just like the aforementioned Ocean dub of DBZ.

Next, with the exception of a few like Luna, Artemis and Queen Beryl, most of the characters names were changed.

For example:

Usagi - Serena (taken from the word Serenity)

Ami - Amy (replacing the "I" with the "Y")

Rei - Raye (the pronunciation is the same, but the difference is the spelling)

Makoto - Lita (No relation to retired wrestler/valet, Amy Dumas, either named after rocker Lita Ford, or a pun for lightning and/or named after Leda, one of Jupiter's moons)

Minako - Mina (which makes most sense, after all, in the manga, Artemis calls her Mina)

Then, there is one other hurdle, the same sex relationships. Triple H once said that "Alternative lifestyles are perfectly acceptable in this day in age," but not in the 90s. To avoid any wraith from parental groups and the FCC, to have a relationship with Kunzite (or Malachite in the old dub), Zoisite's gender was changed from male to female. And then, when the dub was handed over to Toei's English distributor, Cloverway, they made the worst edit they can possibly made to ruin even the devoted Sailor Moon fan, turning Sailor Uranus and Neptune from a Lesbian couple into...cousins. 

In short, aside from the faults I have mentioned, the reason I like this dub was because of not just the voices, including Terri Hawkes, Katie Griffin, Susan Roman, Jill Frappier, Ron Rubin, Toby Proctor and so forth, but I do like the songs from this dub, including my favorite, She's Got the Power. I mean, come, who doesn't like Stan Bush, anyway? Sailor Moon's journey to the West wasn't an easy one. But, she wasn't the only character from Japan to have such a journey, for a certain radioactive dinosaur when through the same journey, but in a different sort, over 60 years ago.

Dragon Ball What If: What If Frieza brought the Ginyu Force With Him To Namek

What if Frieza decided to bring the Ginyu Force with him to Namek instead of Zarbon and Dodoria. Here's how it would go down.

Note that I'm gonna be placing this What-If Scenario in the Original Continuity,meaning Dragon Ball Super and All of it's elements Don't Exist. Anyway,here we go.

Frieza,feeling very paranoid decides to take the Ginyu Force to Namek with him,leaving Zarbon and Dodoria behind. On Namek,Frieza and his Ginyu waste no time in causing destruction and eventually get 4 Dragon Balls.

bulma,Krillin,and Gohan arrive. Vegeta arrives,followed by Cui. Vegeta and Cui sensed by Krillin and Gohan. Bulma picks up the 4 Dragon Balls that Frieza stole on her Dragon Radar. 

Vegeta kills Cui like in canon. Fearing that Vegeta may be a huge problem,Frieza sends Burter and Jeice a d orders them to bring him the Saiyan's corpse. Frieza and co move on to the next village. Things happen like normal until Vegeta is ambushed by Burter and Jeice. 

Meanwhile,Gohan and Krillin are watching Frieza and Co from a cliff. For a moment things go like in canon,although Moori's atte pt to destroy the Ginyu Forces Scouters gets him killed. When,Gohan jumps in to try to save Dende he's killed by Recoome. Krillin is also killed by the big doofus. The Nemekian child is killed next. After Guldo finds the Dragon Ball,Frieza decides to take a rest in his ship,while Guldo,Ginyu,and Recoom search for the remaining 2 Balls.

Meanwhile,Burter and Jeice decimate Vegeta with double team tactics and eventually kill him the same way Future!17 and Future!18 killed Future!Gohan. The 2 bring Vegeta's  corpse to Frieza as ordered.

Bulma sets up a Capsule House and gets a call from Her Father telling her that Goku will be on Namek in 4 days. She then begins to wonder where Gohan and Krillin are,unaware that they were killed.

Guldo and Recoome find Tsuno's village and attack it. After killing the Namekians,they find the Dragon Ball and take it back to Frieza.

Meanwhile,Grand Elder Guru,feeling that all hope may be lost,recruits Nail to be Namek's sole defender. He unlocks Nail's Potential and gives him the Final Dragon Ball,requesting his son to hide it. 

A powered-up Nail leaves for his mission. Meanwhile,Burter and Jeice present Vegeta's corpse to Freiza,who immediately incinerates it. Recoome and Guldo return with the 6th Dragon Ball. Frieza is very pleased and sends the entire Ginyu Force to search for the last one.

Nail sees the carnage that Frieza and the Ginyu have left behind and promises to make them pay. He hides the Dragon Ball deep in the ocean and leaves to hunt down and destroy the Ginyu Force. One by one he does just that. They ask where the Final Dragon Ball was and Nail refuses to tell them. The power awakened by Guru allows Nail to easily kill the Ginyu Force,he even manages to prevent Captain Ginyu from stealing his body. 

Out in space,Goku is training hard in 100x gravity,unaware that his friend and son are dead.

Nail confronts Frieza at his ship. After destroying the grunts,the Namekian Warrior battles the tyrant. Thoughout the battle,Frieza continually demands to know where the final Dragon Ball is. 

Nail defeats Frieza in his first form. Upset at the loss,The Icy Tyrant transforms to his 2nd form.

Nail has a tougher time and,eventually, loses. Frieza demands to know the location of the Final Dragon Ball. Nail curses profusely in Nemekian and Frieza can't understand him,calling Nail's words "stupid gibberish".

Nail realizes that Frieza can't understand Namekian and very likey can't speak it either 

Nail reveals that he hid the final Dragon Ball deep in the ocean. But warns that even if the tyrant gets it,he still won't be able to get his wish.

Frieza calls Nail's Warning empty and  leaves to find the Dragon Ball. Nail gives chase.   

Meanwhile,Bored out of her skull,Bulma decides to do some Dragon Ball hunting of her own,she locates Guru's Dragon Ball deep within a nearby ocean.

She eventually gets it and takes it back to her camp. She also decides to wait for Goku to get the rest.

Nail catches up with Frieza and continues the fight. Thanks to having a ton of heart,Nail manages to pull off an upset victory,but at the cost of most of his energy.

The 3 nameless Warrior Namekians (the ones from that one filler scene in the anime) arrive to help Nail. Frieza simply kills all 3. Guru,mentally witnessing the death of his children,dies of a broken heart. The Dragon Balls have turned to stone.

Seeing his Brothers getting killed before his eyes and sensing that his Father had suddenly died unnaturally,triggers a transformation within Nail. Nail transforms into a Super Namekian (it's the same type of transformation Lord Slug had in his movie).

With renewed energy and a newfound power,Nail beats Frieza,which forces the tyrant to transform again. Frieza fares a bit better against The Super Namekian,but still fails in the end.

Frieza transforms into his Final Form and is on equal footing with the Giant Super Namekian. Frieza powers up to 50% of his maximum and manages to overcome his foe. Badly damaged from Frieza's attacks,Nail transforms back into his normal state.

Frieza kills Nail. Feeling that all obsticals to his mission have been eradicated,Frieza decides to relax and get something to eat back at his ship before continuing his search for the final Dragon Ball.

1 Day Later,Goku Arrives and finds Bulma. Bulma tells Goku about how the Dragon Ball she found turned to stone yesterday. Goku asks where Gohan and Krillin are. Bulma tells him and Goku leaves to find them.

Goku is horrified at the destruction and death left behind by Frieza and his men. He finds Krillin and Gohan among the dead Nemekians. Seeing his Son and Best Friend Dead,causes Goku to get so enraged,he transforms into a Super Saiyan.

Goku races toward Frieza's Ship and attacks it. He calls out the Tyrant and the 2 battle. Frieza mentions that he had Vegeta killed,because he hates Saiyans and that it's also the Reason he destroyed Planet Vegeta. This gets Goku even angrier. Frieza is eventually killed by an enraged Goku,who refuses to let Frieza power up. With Frieza dead,Goku's friends, the Namekians,and even Vegeta are avenged. 

Goku calms himself and transforms back. After the fight,Goku and Bulma leave Namek,with the bodies of Gohan and Krillin. 

Now because I don't feel like doing a whole story anymore,here are the major changes this What If makes to the existing Continuity.

- Goku takes up Gravity Training daily and becomes 2x stronger than he was in the Android Saga. In fact,he becomes a Super Saiyan Grade 2. Chi Chi also takes up training again. She joins her husband on the battlefield sometimes.

- Sinse Goku never went to Yardrat he never gets the Heart Virus. But this also means that he doesn't learn Instant Transmission.

- Before the Arrival of the Androids,Goku and Chi Chi enter the 24th Tenkaichi Budoukai Tournament. Due to sheer luck,Chi Chi is defeated by Hercule Satan via ring-out. The Final match is Hercule v Goku. Goku takes pitty on Hercule and lets him win. Goku senses a good heart within Hercule and offers to train him. Hercule declines,but becomes friends with Goku and Chi Chi.

- King Cold invades Earth with Zarbon and Dodoria and wants to avenge his pride,which Goku killed when he killed Frieza. Goku fights and kills all 3.

- Because Vegeta is dead,Trunks doesn't exist. Because Goku is not only Alive,but more powerful,Trunks' Bad Future is also non-existent. 

- Goku and Co. find out about the Androids via Radio and Television,so the Androids attack uninterupted for a while.

- Goku,due to being stronger,destroys Android 19 and beats up Dr.Gero/Android 20. Gero begs for mercy and Goku gives it to him. Gero flees to his lab to awaken Androids 17 and 18.

- 17 and 18 kill Dr. Gero and awaken Android 16,like in canon. Also like in canon,the Androids are more benevolent,though they still want to fight Goku. 16 needs to kill him to forfill his prime programming.

- The Androids meet Goku at his home. Goku fights Android 16 and barely beats him. During the fight the Androids gain respect for the Saiyan. Goku doesn't think the Android are evil. In fact,16 is a very honorable fighter. 17 liked the way Goku fights and wants to challenge him next. But decides to give Goku a day to recuperate,so that he can beat him at his best.

- As Goku is resting at home,Androids 17 and 18 decide to have some fun in the city. Thankfully they don't harm anyone while doing it (again,they're more benevolent in this universe,especially compared to their bad future counterparts).

- The next day,Goku battles 17 and defeats him. While this battle is going on Chi Chi and 18 strike up a friendly conversation. Goku defeats 17,while also making a friendly rival out of him. Goku promises 17 a rematch.

- The Android Trio eventually become friends with Goku and the others. They travel the world looking for adventure and excitement. Android 17 also trains hard,so that he can best Goku in their rematch. Android 16 even babysits Goten a few times.

- Since the Time Machine doesn't exist in this Universe,Future!Cell doesn't come to the present. So he's eliminated from the equation. Though Present!Cell does appear later on.

- There is no Saiyaman Saga,due to Gohan being dead. However,Goku and Chi Chi Do have Goten and eventually meet Hercule Satan's Daughter,Videl,who trains with the Sons. Present!Trunks is absent for obvious reasons.  

- Chi Chi,Android 16,and Android 17 take part in the 25th Tenkaichi Budokai Tournament,along with Goku,Videl,Android 18,and Hercule Satan. Goten competes in the Junior Division and wins it all.

- Spopovitch and Yamu steal Goku's Energy,resulting in Majin Buu being extremely close to revival. Goku,16,and 17 go with Shin and Kibito. 18 and Chi Chi decide to stay behind to win the Tournament. Goten is forbidden to join Goku and Co by Chi Chi,due to safety concerns (after all,she lost one son to evil forces,she doesn't want to lose another).

- The fights in Babidi's ship are different. 16 fights and kills Pui Pui; Goku kills Yakon (the same way he did in canon),and,thanks to hard training,17 destroys Dabura. Goku is impressed with 17's strength. The Spirit energies from the 3 fights are almost enough to unleash Majin Buu.

- Babidi "Majins" Android 17,because he likes the cut of his Jib And because he needs a new #2 guy. Majin 17 is impressed with his new power and challenges Goku to a fight and threatens Earth's  population if he refuses. Goku agrees,despite the Supreme Kai's objections. 

- The Fight takes place in the same area as the canon's Goku v Majin Vegeta. Babidi is shocked to find out that his new puppet is ignoring his orders. 17 reveals that his individuality and self-determination overridden what little control the wizard had. 17 and Goku are evenly matched.

- Back at the Tournament,The battle Royale Happens like in the canon. Except the final 3 fighters are Chi Chi,18,and Hercule Satan. Goten leaves to meet up with Goku and the others. Hercule makes a deal with the 2 lady fighters promising them His prize money and some extra cash and perks if they let him win. The 2 women agree and let the showman knock them out of the Ring.

- As Goku v Majin 17 continues,The Supreme Kai and Android 16 fights Babidi. A few minutes Later,Majin Buu awakens. Both Goku and 17 feel Buu's power and agree to put their fight on hold until Buu is delt with. 17 and Goku rescue The Supreme Kai and Android 16,who were overwhelmed by the pink monster.

- Since Buu was mostly revived using Goku's Energy,he's a bit stronger than in canon. 

- 17 kills Babidi. But, when Buu proves to be too much for the heroes,17 decides to make the Ultimate Sacrifice by using his Internal Bomb to blow up Buu..and himself in the possess,despite objections from both Goku and 16. Buu survives the explosion,17 doesn't. Goku goes Super Saiyan 3 to avenge his friend and rival and is on equal grounds with Buu.

- Goten arrives to see his friend Android 16 being destroyed by Buu,this causes the young Half-Saiyan to become a Super Saiyan 2. Goten beats on Buu,but is knocked out. Goku is also beat after running out of energy. 

- Buu is disappointed at the lack of strong guys to kill. Goku convinces Buu to let him train for a few days and promises the monster a better time. 

- Goku and the Supreme Kai inform the others of the recent events and plans to use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber on Kami's Lookout to get stronger so that they can bet Buu and avenge 16 and 17. The Supreme Kai uses his "Instantanius Movement" to bring everyone to Kami's.

- Chi Chi and 18 go into the Chamber first,followed by Goku and Goten. 18 needs to avenge her brother and friend,so she insisted on going 1st. While this is going on,Canon happens.

- Due to Goku remaining alive and Not meeting any Metomorans,Goku doesn't know the Fusion Dance,so Fusion only happens via Potara Earrings in this canon. Also since no one goes to the Sacred World of the Kai's to train yet,Old Kai remains sealed up. Also,since Piccolo is dead,Super Buu isn't persuaded into using his Human Extinction Attack,so the people of Earth Survive.

- Super Buu attacks the Look-Out and is met with Chi Chi and 18,who fight the monster. The fight begins immediately,so Buu never turns anyone into candy. 

- Chi Chi and 18 use excellent teamwork to beat back Buu. Buu reveals that he's only biding time until Goku and Goten arrive and that he was only "Playing" with the ladies. 

- Goku decimates Buu,and in retaliation the big pink monster absorbs Chi Chi,18,and Goten. King Yemma,feeling that the situation may be dire,has Baba temporarily revive Android 17.

- The Supreme Kai gives both Goku and 17 his Potara Earrings. After convincing 17 that it is the only way to beat Super Buu,Goku and 17 fuse into Lapirot (a portmanteau of Lapis,17's real name and Kakarot,Goku's Saiyan name).

-  Lapirot takes the place of Vegito,basically. They even infiltrate Buu to save their loved ones.

- To save Earth,Supreme Kai quickly teleports Kid Buu to an unnamed Planet and then immediately teleports Goku and 17 to that same Planet to battle the monster.

- Feeling that Goku and 17 may need help,The Supreme Kai teleports Chi Chi,18,and Goten to the Planet to lend a hand. Goku uses the Spirit Bomb to destroy Kid Buu.

- Hercule wasn't present at the battle,so he never convinced the people of Earth to lend Goku their energy. Thanfully,Goku was able to draw energy from not only his friends,but from the entire Galaxy as well and that was enough to annihilate Kid Buu. Sadly,Majin Buu (the fat buu) was killed along with his evil counterpart. Goku's secret wish for Kid Buu to be reincarnated into a Good Guy Does still happen,however. 

- Since this What-If takes place in the Original Continuity,the events of Super (as well as battle of gods and resurrection f) do Not take place. Though,Videl,Goten and 18 train on a regular basis. Chi Chi retires from fighting.

- Present!Cell awakens and is terrorizing the populace by draining their life force. Goku destroys him easily. This version of Cell has Zarbon and Dodoria's cells,but lacks Frieza's. Videl marries a scientist named Kyle,who looks like Gohan. They have a daughter named,Luci. Bulma never marries,but does become President of Capsule Corp,inventing great things that will help the world - Such as a Teleporter Belt.

- Canon happens at the 28th Tenkaichi Budoukai Tournament and Goku trains Uub.

- Due to Piccolo being dead,the Black-Star Dragon Balls don't work and are undetectable,so they aren't used. Goku stays an adult. 

- The Machine Mutants invade Earth,because they think it's a perfect world to rebuild the New Tuffle Kingdom. They are decimated by Goku and friends. Baby possesses Goten,turning him into Baby Goten.

- Goku is defeated by Super Baby Goten 3,but is saved by the Supreme Kai,who takes him to the World of the Kai's. Goku trains with the Z-Sword and accidentally breaks it,freeing the Old Kai. Old Kai unleashes Goku's hidden potential,which grows his tail back. The possess only takes 3 hours,thankfully and Goku is able to return,stronger than ever.

- Baby's plan is similar to the one he had in GT,except the Dragon Balls aren't part of it (y'know since they no longer exist). Also,since Majin Buu was destroyed,Uub never becomes Majuub. However,since he's stronger in this canon,Ubb is able to put up some resistance against the evil Tuffle Mutant. He gets help from the others,as well.

- Goku eventually transforms into a Super Saiyan 4 and defeats Baby. After the Tuffle leaves Goten's body,Goku kills him.

- The Super 17 Saga happens,but with 1 major change,Hell Fighter 17 fuses with Android 18 to become Android 35. 18's influence prevents Android 35from doing any serious damage to the Earth or killing any innocent lives. In fact,her Influence holds 35 back in battle and allows Goku and 17 to destroy the Android. Android 17 escapes the afterlife and helps Super Saiyan 4 Goku destroy Android 35. 17 goes back after the battle.

- After everything in the afterlife is stable,Peace returns to Earth. There are No Shadow Dragons,since there are no Dragon Balls. Goken is born to Goten and his wife,Valese. Uub becomes the new defender of Earth.

 This was just something I wanted to do. So I did it. I may do more What-If's in the future - if I feel like it.

Happy 25th Anniversary Mega Man RS AND The 1st Sailor Moon Dub

Yesterday was 9/11,a time for reflection and remembering the evil that struck our shores. But before that time,9/11 held 2 Other Anniversaries : The Ruby Spears Mega Man Series And the 1st Sailor Moon English Dub.

RS Mega Man debut in 1994,while the 1st English Sailor Moon Dub debut in 1995.

I've watched the Ruby Spears Mega Man show ever since it debut and It became a favorite. Sure it has flaws,but I try to overlook them. In fact,I like the series so much,that I've created a reboot for it. I'll talk more about Ruby Spears Mega Man another time,since I talk about it enough.

As for the Original Sailor Moon dub,I got into it after my friend Phil convinced me to give it a shot. He was a big fan of the franchise way before I've even heard of the show. The 1st dub has major issues,but despite this,I still think this dub has charm.

Nothings perfect,but that's okay,nothing needs to be.

So Happy Anniversary to Both RSMM and the English SM Dub. Hope your fandoms last forever.

3 Reasons Why The Original Funimation DBZ Dub is Far Superior to The Kai Dub (and 3 reasons why the Kai Dub beats the Original Dub)

Ever since 1998,We Americans fell in love with the franchise when it first aired on Toonami and we're Still in love with it. Yup we can't get enough of Dragon Ball. So today we will be talking about the 2 FUNimation Dubs of the most popular Dragon Ball series: Dragon Ball Z.

Yup,there were 2 FUNi dubs of Z: The Original Dub and the Kai Dub. So today,here are 3 Reasons Why The Original Funimation DBZ Dub is Far Superior to The Kai Dub (and 3 reasons why the Kai Dub beats the Original Dub).

Original Beats Kai #3 - More Popularity: The Original Dragon Ball Z dub made it's TV debut in 1996 with mixed success. However,once the show made it's Classic Toonami debut in 1998,the show reached great success. The Kai dub,on the other hand,wasn't well watched. This was due to tbe show being originally aired on Nick and Nicktoons. Pluus very few in the West wanted Kai to begin with. This attitude has changed as of late,thanks to the Show being rebrodcast on Adult Swim's Toonami.

Kai Beats Original #3 - Somewhat Closer to the Original Japanese Script: While entertaining as All Hell,the Original FUNi dub only followed the original Japanese script losely. The Kai dub,about 85% of the time,stuck to the Japanese script. They even potrayed the characters close to their Original Japanese counterparts. The Kaio-Ken was also said correctly.

Original Beats Kai #2 - Many Iconic Lines: Since Kai mostly sticks with the Japanese script,there aren't many Iconic lines. The Classic dub,however,has many iconic lines,some even became popular memes. Lines such as the ever popular "It's Over Nine Thousaaaannndd!!",were due to the original dub.

Kai Beats Original #2 - Frieza's Voice: Linda Young is a really good actress,but her voice really didn't fit Frieza that much at all. When Kai was dubbed,they replaced her with Chris Ayres,who's voice fits the character much better.

Original Beats Kai #1 - The Faulconer Soundtrack: One of the greatest things about the Original Dub of Z was the awesome soundtrack by Bruce Faulconer. Ok,let me just make this extrenely clear,Shunsuke Kikuchi's Music is great,I love it too. But there is no denying that the soundtrack seems too odd of a fit with the English VO's...at least to me.

Kai Beats Original #1 - Slightly Better Acting: The #1 thing that Kai Dub has over the Original Dub is the Acting. When the Original dub was made back in '99,the FUNi VA's were just rookies,though they improved over time. When the Kai Dub was being made years later,the same VA's were veterans at that point and it really showed.

What If?! - FUNimation dubs Sailor Moon!

Hey there, Toonsters!

Thought I take a break from all the reviews for a while and start a new blog series which I like the call "What If?!" Based on the Marvel Comics one shot alternate stories of what if this superhero never truly became a hero or a group of heroes having the same powers (e.gs. Spider-Man stopping the burglar and becoming an actor full time and the Fantastic Four having the same powers after their exposure to cosmic rays), this series will tell us about scenarios that WOULD happen, if certain issues didn't happen today, especially around the world of fiction and non-fiction. That being said, let us talk about the subject at hand, shall we?

As we all know, that as of late, I have not been the biggest fan of FUNimation that I use to be, regarding Vic Mignonga. But, there was a time that I was the biggest fan of FUNi, especially when it comes to the quality of dubbing anime, the right way, compaired to 4Kids. Long ago, FUNimation use to do a survey on what anime they would dub in their future projects. One of them is doing the whole original series of Sailor Moon, including Sailor Stars. Unfortunately, they goofed on that chance and the rights to redub the original (along with the reboot, Sailor Moon Crystal) ended up on the door step of VIZ Media, and the rest, as they say, was history.

And with Sailor Stars preparing to be released on May of this year, I am still planning to get all 5 seasons before getting the movies and Crystal. And until I get all the seasons, I will not do a review on the redubs for now. Believe me, I got a lot to say. But I assure you, my opinions will be honest and level-headed. That being said, VIZ Media thus far is doing a decent job on making sure that this redub stays true to the original Japanese version. Some of the voice actors I know did other works like in other animes and in video games, including Patrick Seitz, Kate Higgins, Veronica Taylor, Michael Sorich and Barbara Goodson. But, what if, what if all 5 seasons of Sailor Moon were dubbed, officially, by FUNimation? So sit back, relax and prepare to be amazed on what suggests I thought of if FUNimation DID redub Sailor Moon. After all, I did a video on this once, but I lost the main file. So, I will salvage whatever I can remember.

The following is a list of thoughts and suggestions that would make sense if FUNimation DID redub Sailor Moon:

- It would stay true to the original Japanese version.

- Original character names, transformation phrases and attack names would stay true to the original Japanese.

- English credits for both the opening and ending credits

- True High Definition quality for the DVDs and Blu-Rays, especially making it fit to all HDTVs (16:9 would make more sense better than 4:3; no black bars from left to right!)

- Every season would have a completed booklet, emphasis on "Complete" (VIZ Media almost got it right until the botched up the limited edition booklets for season 4; "WHAT DO YOU MEAN "To Be Announced" VOICED QUEEN NELHALENIA?!).

And last, but certainly not least, the right voices for the characters. For instance:

Laura Bailey: She would be a shoo-in to voice Usagi. I mean, her voice for Usagi is a cross between Sana Kurata from Kodocha and Touru Honda from Fruits Basket, both funny and sensitive at the same time. But, Usagi wouldn't be the only character she would voice. Ms. Bailey, addition voicing little girls and teenagers, can deepen her voice to sexiful levels, especially with Alv from Kiddy Grade, Rayne from BloodRayne, Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist and Christie from the Dead or Alive series, for I picked her to voice Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus as well.

Eric Stuart: I know what you are thinking. "But Jason, Eric Stuart was 4Kids bound. He was Brock, James and Seto Kaiba. He would never work for FUNimation!" But, he wasn't always 4Kids bound, for he did anime voice work elsewhere, for he did voiced Gourry from Slayers alongside Lisa Ortiz as Lina Inverse. And although he would only voiced him in the first dozen episodes of the first season, Mr. Stuart would be perfect as the voice of Jadeite. I would take his Seto Kaiba voice into an even more dark direction. But a boy can dream, can't I?

Lastly, since VIZ Media goofed in finding the voice of Usagi's brother, Shingo, if this was done by FUNimation, they would've gone the Veronica Taylor/Billie Lou Watt approach and use a female voice actor to voice Usagi's bratty brother. Probably Mona Marshall, who knows?

Dragon Ball Theroy! Multiple Dragon Ball Universes!?

I watch Dragon Ball Super every chance I get. And I gotta say,as a Dragon Ball fanboy,I'm so hooked. However,I do have a few gripes with it,mainly Continuity Issues with Z and GT.

And that brings us to my Theory. There Are Multiple Dragon Ball Universes! The most notable ones being the Retro One and the Modern One. 

We'll start with the Classic One. In the Classic Universe Super doesn't exist,but GT Does. Not only that,but Most of the Filler exists too. Y'know what else doesn't exist in this Continuity? All Of The More Recent Dragon Ball Animations! Battle Of Gods Can't Exist because it contridicts Super Saiyan 4 and since Ressurection F is a direct sequel to Battle of Gods,it don't/can't exist either.

Episode of Bardock,Goku and Friends Return,Dragon Ball Online,Dragon Ball Minus,and Jacko the Patrolman are exclusive to the Modern Continuity. The Garlic Jr. Saga and ALL scenes with Krillin's Ex Maron aren't canon to either main continuity. 

Mainly because the 1st Movie "Deadzone" (where garlic jr. is the main villain) contradicts some things,such as Krillin seeing and meeting Gohan briefly in that movie,while aware that he was Goku's son. But in the Anime series,He (along with Bulma and Roshi) were shocked to find out that Goku had a kid.

Maron's debut was in the Garlic Jr.Saga,so she can't exist in these continuities if the Garlic Jr.Saga itself doesn't. And besides,Deadzone is mentioned throughout the saga.

Both main continuities share Bardock - Father of Goku and History of Trunks,however.

Here's a timeline: Bardock - Father of Goku-------Dragon Ball--------Dragon Ball Z (and History of Trunks)----------Dragon Ball GT.

Dragon Ball Super mostly erases the continuity of GT,so Super can't be canon to this Universe. However,it IS canon to the Modern Continuity. Dragon Ball ZKai aka Dragon Ball Kai is a mostly fillerless remastered re-dub of Dragon Ball Z,that follows the Manga much more faithfully than the Original Anime. As a result some of the character's personalities are slightly different,though more faithful to how they were in the Manga. 

Goku is the biggest example. In the original anime Goku was slightly more Heroic than he was in Toriyama's original works. But in Kai,Goku's personality matches his Manga counterparts perfectly.

The modern continuity is also larger,with many more events and characters.

Heres the modern timeline: Dragon Ball Minus-------Bardock - Father of Goku (and Episode of Bardock)--------- Jacko the Patrolman-----------Dragon Ball (fillerless and remastered)-----------Dragon Ball Kai/ZKai (and History of Trunks)----------Son Goku and Friends Return---------Dragon Ball Super----------Dragon Ball Online.

Dragon Ball GT can't work in this Universe,mainly because Super contradicts it. Plus the characters personalities are the same in Super,as they were in Kai/ZKai. Dragon Ball Online was co-created by Akira Toriyama and is the ONLY video game to be part of one of the main continuities.

Also,The Movies and Plan To Eraticate The Saiyans/Super Saiyans aren't Canon to either main continuity and are their own separate thing. In fact,they Can be considered part of a 3rd DB Universe. The only exceptions are Bardock - Father of Goku and History of Trunks,which are apart of All Universes.

Here's the timeline for this 3rd Universe: Bardock - Father of Goku----------Curse of the Blood Rubies--------Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle---------Mystical Adventure----------Deadzone-----------Worlds Strongest--------------Tree of Might--------Lord Slug---------History of Trunks--------Cooler's Revenge-----------Return of Cooler------------Super Android 13---------Broly - Legendary Super Saiyan--------Plan To Eradicate The Saiyan's/Super Saiyans-----------Bojack Unbound----------Broly - The Second Coming-----------Bio Broly----------Fusion Reborn---------------Wrath of the Dragon---------------Battle of Gods (movie version)------------Ressurection F (movie version)--------------------A Hero's Legacy.

What happens between these movies is up to interpretation. Dragon Ball GT - A Hero's Legacy doesn't contradict Battle of Gods or Ressurection F,so I didn't make an error. I didn't list Dragon Ball - Path to Power because it was a retelling and mashup of Dragon Ball's Goku and Red Ribbon Army sagas. 

Which brings us to another Dragon Ball continuity. The 'Path to Power' Universe. As of right now,the only known events of this Universe are Bardock - Father of Goku and,of course,The Path to Power.

The Video Games themselves are each set in their own seperate continuities. The only exception is Dragon Ball Online.

There are many many more Dragon Ball Universes that I really don't feel like discussing. Point is Despite Akira Toriyama's original intentions,Dragon Ball has branched out into Multiple Continuities and as long as Dragon Ball exists and keeps it's healthy fan base,the number of continuities will keep on increasing.

What If Saban Dubbed Sailor Moon in the 90's Instead of DiC?

As everyone remembers way back in January of 2010 I talked about "Saban Moon" and how it wasn't associated with Saban at all. Instead,it was created by Toon Makers.

But since it was co-produced by Renaissance-Atlantic,an ally of Saban Entertainment,people wrongfully assumed that Saban was responsible for this version of Sailor Moon. Thus why it was called Saban Moon.

Anyway,back in the 90's Saban was could do no wrong,and they had a great relationship with Toei.

So what if,in the 90's,Toei decided to give the Sailor Moon dubbing rights to Saban instead of DiC? Would that dub be better? And what about Cloverway? Would they still play a roll,or do dubbing duties stay with Saban?

A 90's Saban Sailor Moon dub would be superior. Why? Because the Writing and Voice Acting would be way better,that's why. Also,Haim Saban and Shuki Levy would've create excellent music for the series. Plus,DiC Can't Handle Anime,Saban Can. This has been proven fact.

So? what about Voice Actors? Who would Voice who? I have no idea. But I'm very sure Saban would use Californian VA's (the ones that they always use for their anime dubs).

Plus,I believe Saban would either change names or keep them as is. Maybe do a bit of both. Change the names to what? Who knows? I'd be up to Saban. I doubt they'd keep the DiC or Cloverway names,though.

Also,the series would've aired on FOX Kids and/or Fox Family. Reruns would've aired on Disney's Jetix block.

Now,with all of this said,it's time for the billion dollar question: Would Saban dub the final season,Sailor Stars? Well the answer isn't very clear...for a few reasons:

1 - Sailor Stars is somewhat controversial.

2 - Toei may decide to pull the plug on the Sailor Moon dub before Sailor Stars,despite Saban doing a good job.

And 3 - There's a chance that Disney would've purchased Saban,before they even had a chance to dub Sailor Stars. So it would've been too late.

So,why did DiC get dubbing duties for Sailor Moon and not Saban? I have no idea. DiC either got to the bidding table first with a good deal or Saban wasn't interested or was preoccupied with something else.

Whatever the reason,Saban not acquiring the dubbing rights to Sailor Moon was a huge missed opportunity. But we can always dream...dream of what should have been.

Make no mistake,had Saban acquired the dubbing rights,we would've been treated to a really great Sailor Moon dub in the 90's. Let's face it,DiC did a bad job and Cloverway did even worse.

Soooooo,what are the Downsides to Saban dubbing Sailor Moon? Well,for starters,Saban will still be editing the Anime for General Audiences. And Haruka and Michiru would have to be just good friends,instead of lovers. Same with Zoisite and Kunzite. But on the bright side,Saban edits anime way better than DiC and Cloverway do. So there's that.

Also,since Saban would be handling the dub,Sailor Moon will be exclusive to Fox Kids,Fox/ABC Family,and later,Jetix. So it can't and won't be on Toonami. Which really sucks.

No time for the Good Aspects of a hypothetical Saban dub. Well like I stated earlier,Saban handles anime way better than DiC and Cloverway. There's a chance we could've had ZERO missing episodes for this dub. Plus,I think the 1st Season Finale would've remained un-spliced.

Another good apect besides the editing would be the Voices and Voice Acting. Trust me,If you watched any of Saban's 90's anime dubs,you'll instantly notice the quality of the Voice Acting is vastly superior to Optimum Productions. The scripts would be better too.

And finally,an original musical score done by Shuki Levy and Haim Saban. How great is that?

I think it's safe to say that Saban would've handled Sailor Moon way better than DiC and Cloverway. Shame it never happened,though we do have our imaginations.
