Tom Z: Welcome to another cool edition of Cartoon Quickie. Today we'll take a look at Mighty Max,a cartoon that's based off of a semi-popular toyline.
Tom Z: Mighty Max follows the adventures of a boy named Max,a sage named Virgil, and a warrior named Norm.
Tom Z: Max is The hero of the series he's a rambunctious young teenager who is very good at getting out of (and into) trouble. One day, he receives a mysterious package containing a videotape and a red baseball cap with a large, yellow "M" on it. The cap is actually an ancient key to various portals found throughout time and space, and as he soon finds out, Max has been chosen as its bearer and protector. Upon donning the cap, he becomes the Capbearer - the Mighty One. Max soon meets Virgil and Norman. Lastly, Max meets his arch-enemy Skullmaster. Sometimes,Max shows reluctance to be the Mighty One, which only seems to get him into trouble and even greater danger. He would rather get on with being a normal everyday kid and play with his friends, but Virgil and the cap leave him with little choice.
Tom Z: Virgil is an owl-esque creture and the last living Lemurian. The Lemurians either created or discovered the portals, and later created the key in order to access them. Virgil is over ten thousand years old, and is very knowledgeable about both the past and future. However, the majority of his trust rests on his ancient texts, and he seems to lack compulsion. Virgil is always serious, and quite often frustrated by Max's carefree ways.
Tom Z: Norman is Max's mighty bodyguard. Norman is usually serious, but unlike Virgil,he seems to enjoy Max's carefree ways. Most of the time,Norman desplay's a cool temperment and has rarely given into rage.
Tom Z: Skullmaster is the primary villain of the series and the arch-nemesis of the Mighty One. He's an ancient warrior-sorcerer whose lust for power has driven him to destroy at least two civilizations, the Lemurians and the Atlanteans.
Tom Z: Warmonger is Skullmaster's lame-brained right-hand man. He usually finds himself doing Skullmaster's dirty work, but also enjoys the positions of relative power this gives him over other minions. Cruel and sadistic,he briefly showed ambition and deviousness when he tried to kill Skullmaster in one episode.
Tom Z: Max has other enemies, but I'm gonna let you see them for yourseves. This mini-review is spoiler-free after all.
Tom Z: The Artwork and Animation are typical of the 90's,though a bit better than average. The Music is good and goes with the scenes. Typical adventure show music.
The Overall Writing is pretty good, cool stories in most episodes. And The Voice Acting is top notch.
Tom Z: Mighty Max is Mighty enteertaining and is worth the watch. Well that about wraps it up for this Cartoon Quickie,I hope you enjoyed it. This'll be the last Cartoon Quickie for awhile, but when this segment returns,It'll be better than ever.
Tom Z: This is Tom Z....saying Stay Gold.

Cartoon Quickie: Street Sharks
Mina: Hey guys,Mina here bringing you another Cartoon Quickie. This time we'll be taking a look at Street Sharks. They bite, they fight, they stand for everything right.
Mina: A wacked out scientist named Dr. Paradigm is into unlawful gene-manipulation techniques. Dr. Bolton, a fellow professor, attempted to destroy Paradigm's research, and was transformed into an inhuman monstrosity by the evil scientist before escaping. Paradigm later kidnapped Bolton's four sons — John, Bobby, Coop, and Clint — to transform them into sharks. As soon as they transformed, the four brothers started causing havoc. Soon after,They planned to capture Paradigm so that they could force him to return them to normal and expose his genetic experiments.
Mina: John Bolton aka Ripster,is the oldest and smartest of the group. He's also the leader. He's not only an inventer, but a pool player as well.
Mina: Clint Bolton aka Jab is the lazy one of the group. However he loves boxing. He also have some talent with mechanics. Jab also appears to be more in tune with his animal side than his siblings, roaring and snarling when angry or excited over something.
Mina: Robert "Bobby" Bolton, Jr. aka Streex is the token 'cool' brother and self proclaimed ladies' man. He enjoys rollerblading and extreme sports.
Mina: Coop Bolton aka Big Slammu is the youngest brother. He's very sport-oriented and is the Strongman of the team.
Mina: Now for the Shark's enemy. The Evil Dr. Piranoid. Dr. Luther Paradigm is a university professor who aims to dominate Fisson City while maintaining a public image. In an accident,Paradigm is injected with piranha DNA,gaining the moniker "Dr. Piranoid". He has a bunch of lackies that are based off of sea creatures.
Mina:The Sharks have a bunch of allies and friends, but you can find out about them yourselves. Cartoon Quickie is NOT a place for spoilers. These mini-reviews started and will stay spoiler-free.
Mina: Anyway,The Artwork and Animation are the typical 90's stuff. nice looking, but has errors. The Music is good. The theme song rocks. The Overall Writing is ok,though nothing great. There are some minor inconsistacies within each episode, but you'll find that in many 80's and 90's cartoons. The Voice Acting is decent, though could've used improvement. The Acting is done by the company which is now known as Ocean Group.
Mina: So,despite the errors and minor inconsistancies,Street Sharks are Jawsome and worth watching! Stay tune for another Cartoon Quicke, where Tom Z will be taking a look at Mighty Max.

Cartoon Quickie: Tiny Toon Adventures.
Their Tiny,Their Toonyh and they are very looney. They are the Tiny Toons. Tiny Toon adventures is basically Looney Toons of the 90's generation. However, the Looney Toons characters aren't the stars. Instead, their younger counterparts are. Each Looney Toon have a modern day counterpart.
The story takes place in Acme Acres, where the LT counterparts live. The characters attend Acme Loonerversity (or acme loo for short),where their teachers are the Looney Toons themselves, with the Legendary Bugs Bunny as the principal.
Let's look at some of the characters, shall we. Buster and Babs Bunny(no relation!) are the stars of the show. Buster is a blue rabbit with a cool personality. He often takes up after his mentor (and counterpart)Bugs Bunny. Babs is the more comical of the duo. She's nergetic and random,as well as a bit ridiculous at times. One of her trademark abilities is doing impersonations of celebrities or of her friends. Unfortunatly Babs has no counterpart as Lola Bunny wouldn't be created until 1996.
Plucky Duck is both greedy and egotistical, like his hero (and counterpart)Daffy Duck, often engaging in various schemes with the goal of personal glory.
Hampton J. Pig is Porky's Counterpart.Hamton's role in the series is as a straight man, often against Plucky's antics. Hamton is also obsessed with cleanliness.
Elmyra Duff is Elmer Fudds counterpart, though she doesn't act like him much. Elmyra is obsessed with cute animals and often times captures them and takes them home with her. Elmyra is also a bit on the ignorant side, she is unaware that her affection is in fact a form of torture. as a result she accidently ends up hurting her pets serverely and sometimes even killing them.
Montana Max is Yosimite Sam's counterpart and rechest guy in Acme Acres. He is bad-tempered, loud-mouthed,and money-hungry.
There are tons more characters, but I'd rather let you discover(or re-discover)them for yourselves. Now on to the rest of the mini-review.
The Artwork and Animation are what to expect from a Warner Bros. Cartoon. However, despite how good it is,there are some errors. The Music itself isn't all that special, but it gets the job done.
The Overall Writing is good and funny. Just like you would expect from a 90's version of Looney Toones. The Voice Acting is awesome.
Tiny Toon Adventures is a cool and funny show and really really really helped the Looney Toon franchise in the 90's. The show was later replaced by Animaniacs. I really recommend watching it.
Well that's it,see ya next time on Cartoon Quickie.

Cartoon Quickie: Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa
Welcome all to another adition of Cartoon Quickie. This time we'll be taking a look at the show,Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa.
In the year 1890,an irradiated meteor struck the Western plains creating a miles high mesa shrouded in clouds. Almost every animal effected by said meteor evolved into a human-oid state.
Inspired by old tales of the Wild West, this new community developed to the point where they emulated that era's way of life. However, their knowledge of Wild West living was limited, and as such, many things about their culture had to be improvised. The concepts of steampunk and Wild West were utilized throughout its run.
The series focuses on trying to keep justice in the frontier territory. The lawbreakers were too much for the corrupt regulators of Cowtown (Mayor Bulloney and Sheriff Terrorbull) to handle by themselves.
Helping them out, whether they wanted it or not, were a group of peacekeepers known as C.O.W. Boys, short for "Code of the West." The C.O.W Boys had their hands full with various ruffians and outlaw gangs that plagued the otherwise peaceful town.
Marshal Moo Montana is the leader of the C.O.W.-Boys and marshall of Moo Mesa. Courageous and quick on his hooves, Moo Montana "battles the bad guys and makes the West a safer place to graze". He lives by the Code of the West, which he seems to make up as he goes along.
Marshal Moo is aided by his 2 deputies,The Dakoda Dude and The Cowlorodo Kid. The Dakota Dude is a Gentel Giant, despite how mean he looks. He's soft-spoken and possesses a cool temperament.
The Cowlorado Kid is the youngest of the group and a self-proclaimed ladies' man with a good singing voice. Regardless of his skill with the lasso and guitar. Cowlorado isn't a deputy yet. The Kid also has a bit of an adventurous side.
Supporting the heroes are,Lily Bovine,Cowlamity Kate Cudster, and Cody Calf. Lily Bovine is a former showgirl and owner of the local saloon,The Tumbleweed. She's also the saloon's bartender. Cowlamity Kate is a tomboyish rancher and operator of the highly profitable Golden Cud Mine. She's as hard-working and hard-riding as any bull, and has enough skill with a lasso to put Cowlorado to shame.
And finally their's Little Cody Calf. He idolizes the marshall and hopes to be a lawcow himself when he grows up. He is apparently related to Lily Bovine in some way and lives with her, though he does not appear to be her son; like everyone else, he refers to her as "Miss Lily". Though well meaning, he often gets himself into serious trouble trying to "help" the lawcows, but has been a useful asset on several occasions.
And now the Outlaws. Mayor Oscar Bulloney is the greedy and corrupt mayor of Cowtown in Moo Mesa, Bulloney rigs elections and makes taxes so high that the Masked Bull compares it to stealing. He also serves as Cowtown's crooked Justice of the Peace and Bank President.
Sheriff Terrorbull was selected by Bulloney to be the town's sherif. Terrorbull uses his badge to conceal his evil intentions. He was forced to leave Cowtown after losing a bet to Moo.However,he became sheriff of the remote town of Lonesome Gulch, where he continued his unlawful exploits. Of course, like any good villain,Terrorbull has cronies...Saddle Sore the Scorpion and Boot Hill Buzzard. Both of whom are baffoonish.
One thing to note about this Show is that most of the episodes (and episode titles)seem to parody popular Western films and books.
Anyway, let's get on with this mini-review. The Artwork and Animation are typical for a 90's cartoon.(ie. Good). The Action scenes are decent. The errors themselves are minimal, though still noticable. The Music itself is good,it fits the whole Wild West motif.
The Overall Writing is good as well. As for the Voice Acting,it's pretty damn great.
Y'know in a way the 3 main characters of this show reminded me of the Biker Mice From Mars. I'll list the similarities someday. Despite how good this show is,One thing that bothered about it was the unanswered questions. Like, what happened to the humans? Did they get terminated by the Meteor? And why didn't the Horses mutate? Ya gotta admit,Cows riding Horses is kinda weird.
Mina: Good Questions.
Mina,Where did you come from?
Mina: I just waltzed in while you were talking. Anyway, the thing that kinda bothered me a bit about this series was the fact that the Cows drank Milk. Yeah,I know you can't have Alcohol consumtion in a SatAM cartoon, but couldn't they drink something else. A Cow dinking their own juice is a bit disgusting.
Of course,it's a Cartoon and one shouldn't over think it.
Now,before we go,I wanna drop this interesting tidbit. The C.O.W Boy's have teamed up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the TMNT Mirage Comics. It's true. look it up,if you don't believe me.
Well,That's gonna do it for this edition of Cartoon Quickie. See Ya Next Time and Stay Gold.
Mina: Laters.

Cartoon Quickie - Biker Mice From Mars (Original)
Welcome all to another adition of Cartoon Quickie. This time we'll be taking a look at The Biker Mice From Mars.
On the planet Mars, there existed a race of anthropomorphic mice who enjoyed Motorsports and had a very similar culture and society to that of Earthlings.
Soon, however, they were all but wiped out by the Plutarkians, an alien race of obese, foul-smelling, fish-like humanoids who exploit other planets for natural resources because they've wasted all of their own.
Three survivors, Throttle, Modo and Vinnie, manage to find a spaceship and escape the Plutarkian takeover but they are soon shot down by a Plutarkian warship and end up crash-landing on Earth in the city of Chicago. There they meet a charming female mechanic named Charlene "Charley" Davidson and discover that the Plutarkians have come to Earth to steal its natural resources.
The Biker Mice discover that Chicago's leading industrialist, Lawrence Limburger, is actually a Plutarkian who disguises himself as a human. Limburger enlists two henchmen, mad scientist Dr. Karbunkle and the idiotic Greasepit to help him steal Earth's natural resources and send them to Plutark. Thus, the Biker Mice become Limburger's chief foils, felling his business tower at the end of nearly every episode.
The Mice and protagonists are: Throttle, the leader of the trio, has a cool attitude..and shades to match.; Modo is big and tough, but he's a nice guy at heart. Modo has a mechanical arm and is the strongest of the trio.; Vinnie is a thrill-seeker with a bit of an ego. He's also a self-proclaimed lady's man.
Joining the Trio is a beautiful human Mechanic named Charlene "Charley" Davidson. She's a headstrong woman, and is always ready to go into battle, though the Biker Mice try to keep her out of dangerous situations.
And what are Heroic Mice without Villains. Lawrence Limburger is the main antagonist of the series,he hails from Plutark and has an odd fascination for Earth's criminal society of the 1930s. He wears a mask in order to look human and a purple suit at most times. He's also highly resourceful and cunning, though always failing due to the biker mice's interventions. His headquarters is Limburger Industries located in Chicago.
Limburger's minions are: Dr. Karbunkle(a thin, sly scientist),Grease Pit (the stereotypical cartoonish bungling bad guy sidekick),and Fred the Mutant (a short and crazy freak, who is almost always happy)
Now,the Artwork and Animation are typical for a 90's cartoon.(ie. Good). The Action scenes are also nicely done. The errors themselves are minimal. The Music is pretty good, the music fits the show really really well.
The Overall Writing is really good as well. A lot of humorous lines to go with the cool action. As for the Voice Acting,it's pretty damn great.
There was a 2007 revival, but it was nowhere near as good as the original. All and all,the Original BMfM is a decent and badass show and is worth watching atleast twice.
That's gonna do it for this edition of Cartoon Quickie. See Ya Next Time and Stay Gold.

Cartoon Quickie: Jem
Sailor Moon: Hey everyone,Sailor Moon here, bringing you The very first Cartoon Quickie of 2011. On this edition of Cartoon Quickie,I'll be reviewing that 80's cult classic,Jem.
Sailor Moon: In a way,Jem is another American Henshin Heroine, like She-Ra. However, she doesn't fight crime. The story goes like this:
Sailor Moon: Jem is the lead singer and frontwoman of the rock group Jem and The Holograms,In reality, though, she's Jerrica Benton, owner/manager of Starlight Music. Jerrica adopts this persona with the help of a holographic computer, known as Synergy, which was built by Jerrica's late father to be "the ultimate audio-visual entertainment synthesizer".
Sailor Moon: Jerrica is then able to command Synergy to project "the Jem hologram" over herself by means of the remote micro projectors in her earrings, thus disguising her features and clothing and enabling her to assume the Jem persona. Looks like Ditzny ripped off this idea for their crapfest iof a series,Hannah Montana.
Sailor Moon: Anyway, the reason for this Henshin is to acquire money to support Starlight Music and the Starlight Foundation for Girls, a foster program founded by her late mother Jacqui Benton.
Sailor Moon: The band The Holograms consists of: Kimber Benton,Jerrica's younger sister, keyboardist and main songwriter for the band; Aja Leith, guitarist; and Shana Elmsford, who plays the synth drums. Aja and Shana are also childhood friends and adopted foster sisters of Jerrica and Kimber. Only The Holograms are aware of Jem's secret identity and the existence of Synergy when the series begins.
Sailor Moon: Episodes of the series frequently revolve around Jerrica's efforts to keep her two identities separate, protect Synergy from those who might exploit her, and support the twelve Starlight Girls who live with her and The Holograms.
Sailor Moon: The Holograms have two rival bands, one of which are called The Misfits: petulant rich girl Pizzazz and her cohorts: no-nonsense Roxy and kind-hearted,sensitive keytar player Stormer, who are later joined by the manipulative British saxophone player Jetta.
Sailor Moon: Most episodes of the series involve a plot by the Misfits to upstage Jem and the Holograms' latest glamorous escapade. This rivalry is encouraged and manipulated by their manager, the ruthless Eric Raymond (the once half-owner of Starlight Music who, during the series, plots constantly to be its owner again).
Sailor Moon: In the middle of the third season, the second band, The Stingers (Riot, lead singer and egotistical;Rapture, female guitarist and professional con-artist;and Minx, keyboard player and a man-manipulator),hit town and shake things up for both groups.
Sailor Moon: Now,some people say that Jem is a clone of Hannah Montana, but in reality it's the otherway around. Unlike, that crapfest of a show,Jem is a show with high quality. The story is kinda nice. The music is your typical 80's stuff. The Artwork and Animation are excellent.
Sailor Moon: In fact,The animation was provided by the Japanese animation studio Toei. Yes,the same company who made Dragon Ball Z and My show. Awesome huh?
Sailor Moon: I think Jem is a good watch. If you can find episodes on Youtube, watch them, you won't be disappointed. However,if you're not a fan of 80's music or 80's fashion, then stay away from this show.
Sailor Moon: I'm Sailor Moon and this has been another Cartoon Quickie. See Ya Next Time.

Cartoon Quickie: Bucky O'Hare
In The Aniverse (an animal-only universe),there is a war going on,a war caused by the Evil Toad Empire. The Aniverses Only hope are a rag-tag bunch of Space Fighters from S.P.A.C.E (Sentient Protoplasm Against Colonial Encroachment). Chosen to lead the missions against the Toad Empire,is a cool green Rabbit named Bucky O'Hare.
Bucky is a funky fresh rabbit who Captains a spaceship called The Righteous Indignation. His crew consisted of: Jenny,a cat with psychic powers, that's Bucky's first mate. She's also the main pilot; Blinky,a small one-eyed robot that's a problem solver; Deadeye Duck,a 4-armed gunner that's impatient and violent; And Willy DuWitt,a human from Earth that serves the crew as an engineer. He's the Only human in the Aniverse and was brought to the Universe by accident.
The members of the Evil Toad Empire include: KOMPLEX,a super computer that's the undisputed ruler of the Toad Empire; The Toad Air Marshall, the commander of KOMPLEX's forces;Toad Borg,an elite Troop, who's a Cyborg; And The Storm Toads, who are the Empire's Grunts.
The Show lasted for 13 episodes and was originally based on a Comic series of the same name. The art and animation are both above average for an American Cartoon.
The Music is ok,it fits the scenes well. However, the theme music is just plain awesome. The writing itself is fine, though it could've been better. The voice acting is fine,it gets the job done.
Overall,Bucky O'Hare is a decent show that's worth watching at least once. It's nothing awesome or exciting, but it's a decent watch.
Well that's all I have to say about this show. See ya next time on Cartoon Quickie.

Cartoon Quickie: Rugrats.
Rugrats was the 2nd Nicktoon created. The show is about a group of babies having mini-adventures in each episode.
The children can communicate with each other through baby speak, although viewers can understand them, because it is 'translated'. Often, they mispronounce words or use poor grammar.
The main character of this show is Tommy Pickles,a brave baby with a sense of justice. Joining Tommy is his good friends,Chuckie Finster,Phil Deville,Lil DeVille, and Later Dil Pickles.
Chuckie is Tommy's a semi-cowardly best friend. He's also the oldest in the group. Phil and Lil are the Twins. They are very adventurous and are eager to do new things. In later seasons,Tommy's little brother,Dil and Chuckies step-sister,Kimi are introduced. Dil is your average baby, who loves to spit up a lot....especially on Chuckie. And Kimi is care free.
Tommy has an older Cousin named Angelica, who's a bit of a jerk and bully. Still, deep down she's not as nasty as she acts. Suzie Charmichael is the babies friend and rival of Angelica. They're both the same age.
Other Characters include: Tommy's Parents,Stu and Didi;Tommy's Grandpa Lou;and Spike,Tommy's dog.
The Nicktoon with the most charm, folks. I haven't seen this show in a great while, but I remember it fondly. The art and animation were decent, though not the greatest.
The music fits the show extremely well and the voices fit each character. The writing is also good,as is the overall acting by the VA's.
This series is fun, though some may not like the Baby theme. This show also spawned a sequel series called 'All Grown Up'. It wasn't very good, trust me.
Anyway, that's gonna do it for now. See ya next time on....Cartoon Quickie.

Cartoon Quickie: Invader Zim.
Zim is a buffoonish alien invader from Planet Irk who comes to earth to dominate it in the name of his home planet. he has a stupid, yet hilarious robotic minion/sidekick called Gir. Both disguise themselves as an earthboy and his dog to study the earthlings upclose.
Zim has a Nemesis called Dib.Dib is a hardcore believer of unsolved mysteries and paranormal propaganda. His greatest goal is to get proof that Zim is an Alien..but always fails and often gets mocked by his peers for his beliefs....especially by his younger sister,Gaz. Gaz is someone that you Never wanna screw with...trust me.
Other characters include: The Tallest,Supreme rulers of Planet Irk,who treat Zim as a joke; And Dr. Memebrane,Gaz and Dib's scientist father, who oftentimes questions his Son's beliefs.
This show is funny. Dib and Zib's buffoonish antics and Gir's often hilarious acts of idiocy make this show the funniest Nicktoon Ever! Even funnier than Ren and Stimpy. Despite being a funny show,Invader Zim does have it's Gross moments.
The artwork and animation are mediocre though,as is the music.
Though, the writing and voice acting are both top notch. Invader Zim is one cartoon show that's worth checking out.

Cartoon Quickie: Doug (Original)
Doug Funnie is a pre-teen who deals with everyday life in Bluffington,U.S.A. Supporting Doug in his life are best friend Skeeter Valentine, his Dog Porkchop, and his friend and crush,Patty Mayonnaise.
His family is also there for support,as well as his wacky nextdoor Neighbor,Mr. Dink. Giving Doug a tough time in and out of school is Roger Klotz,a leather jacket wearing jerk who thinks he's awesome.
Other characters include: Mr. Bone,a Don Knotts-esque man,who is the principal of Doug's school; Bee-Bee Bluff, the richest girl in Bluffington and only daughter of the town's owner;and Chalky Studabaker,a popular athlete.
And of each episode,Doug writes about the events of the episode in his Journal. Sometimes Doug likes to daydream and in a majority of them,he's either Quailman,a Super Hero or Smash Adams,a Secret Agent.
The show itself has tons of charm,as well as good writing. The artwork for this show is of average quality. The music is decent and gets the job done. Speaking of the music,in certain episodes there is a special song that's both catchy and fun to listen to.
The Voices and acting are top notch, especially with Billy "Stimpy" West as the voice of Doug.
All and all, this show is a great watch. And even though I also like Disney's version,I concider this version of Doug to be the True version.
Well that's it fornow, see ya next time on....Cartoon Quickie.

Cartoon Quickie: Captain Planet
The Planet is in danger! Gaia, the spirit of Earth, can no longer withstand the devastation plaguing the planet. So to counter the pollutants, she sends 5 special Rings to 5 special teens from around the globe.
Kwame, from Kenya, has the Power of Earth. Wheeler,,from the U.S.,has the Power of Fire. Linka, from Russia, has the Power of Wind. Gi,from South Korea, has the Power of Water. And Ma-ti,from a South American Nation[i forgot which],has the Power of Heart.
When these 5 powers combine they summon Earth's Greatest Hero,Captain Planet. The Power Is Yours!
Captain Planet and the Planeteers is basically a group of 5 teens, called planeteers, who go around the world battling super polluters, with the most famous one being Hoggish Greedly.
Other Super Polluters include: Duke Nukem[no not that one],an Atomic Monster Man; Dr. Blight,a Mad Scientist who has a skin problem on the right side of her face[its covered by her hair];Verminous Skumm,a Mutant Rat Man;Sly Sludge,a waste dumper; Looten Plunder,a Rich Man who funds criminal projects and sometimes organizations; And Finally Zarm,an evil interdimentional Warlord who was once the Guardian of Earth.
Each Planeteer has an elemental power that comes from their rings. When the Teens combine their powers, they form Captain Planet.
Captain Planet is a master of elements, sort of like Avatar Anng..only with a head of hair and a corny sence of humor. His strengths,of course, are the elements. While his weakness is pollution.
The artwork is good and the Animation suffers little to no errors. The music and sound are of good quality. The ending theme itself is kinda catchy.
There's really nothing more to say about this series except,It's a decent show and worth watching atleast twice. Oh,before I forget, here's a small factoid about the show itself: The first season was done by DiC,while the other 2 were done by Hanna-Barbara.
Well that's gonna do it. See Ya Next Time on Cartoon Quickie.

Cartoon Quickie: Voltron The 3rd Dimension
Voltron the 3rd Dimension continues the adventures of our heroes, the Voltron Force and the mighty robot Voltron...this time in CGI. Keith is still leader;Lance is still the reckless hothead;Allura is still the princess of Arus;Hunk is still the strongman, though he's less tough here;and Pidge is now the teams technology expert.
The main story goes like this: 5 years after The Fleet of Doom Movie,Lothor(in his doom ship)battles the Voltron in space. At the end of the battle,Lothor's ship crashes down to Planet Doom..Lothor doesn't escape and becaus of this he's nearly dead.Lothor gets arrested soon after.
To keep Lothor alive, the prison guys turn him into a Cyborg. However weeks later he escapes with the help of Haggar. Once reunited the 2 continue their war on the Galaxy. Of course, the Voltron Force are called back into action to stop them.
All characters from the original series are back, exept for a chosen few. these are: Queen Merla,Commander Cossack,Nanny,Sven,Prince Bandor, and Princess Romelle.
Commander Cossack's absence is extremely easy to explain he either A] died in the Doom Ship crash or B] Was fired and we never saw it. So what happened to Nanny,Bandor,Sven,Merla, and Romelle? Like with Cossack, the fates of these guys were never explained. In fact, these characters were never mentioned by Any of the characters.
Anyway,I have some theories about the disappearence of these characters.
Nanny Finally realised that Allura could take care of herself and decided to retire. My guess is that she left the Castle and is living somewere in a village on Arus.
Sven and Rommele probally got married and are very busy running planet Pollox as well as their family. They're so busy that they have very little time to visit or call the Voltron Force. They probally did a few times, but we never saw it and the Voltron Force never mentioned it.
Queen Merla most likely went back to her home world and decided to throttle back on being evil. As for Bandor,Well I think that he's still the head of Pollox's army and is very busy defending Pollox from it's enemies. And speaking of Planet Pollox, like these characters,it isn't even seen or mentioned in this series.
The Doomite soldiers are missing too,but they were probally all destroyed in the Ship Crash and the ones at Castle Doom were destroyed by the Voltron Force. But we never saw it.
Anyway,Taking Cossack's place as Commander is a Robot named Igor. Igor isn't very strong, but he takes orders very well. And speaking of Robots,Galaxy Garrison has a new leader named,Amalgamus. Amalgamus is very stern and upright. He sometimes gets into squabbles with the Voltron Force..especially Keith and Lance.
Along with Haggar,Lothor has 2 space pirate's on his side,Queequeg and Lafitte. These 2 are baffoonish losers that rarely do Anything right. Oh yeah and King Zarkon's a Good Guy...at least, for a while.
The First thing you'll notice is that the models used, don't look very much like the characters of Voltron. In fact, the models used for the characters seem to make them look older. Most of the models used aren't all that great.
Another thing you'll notice about the show is that the V-Forces suits are very different and they match the Lions that they pilot. While in the Anime this wasn't the case. Another thing you'll notice is that only Alura has an alternate costume. The others only have one, their V-Force suits.
It's also woth noting that the show is low budget and fans didn't seem to enjoy this show as much as the Anime. But despite all this,Voltron 3D is a decent show and if you liked Voltron Season 2,you'll love this series.
That's gonna do it for now. See ya next time on Cartoon Quickie!

Cartoon Quickie: My Life As A Teenage Robot
Note: This will be my final Cartoon Quickie for a while.
My life as a Teenage Robot is about the Adventures of a Robot named Jenny aka XJ9,who must protect the Earth from mutants and evil robots, while trying to live the life of an ordinary American Teen.
Jenny fights using many of her built-in gadgets, which range from very useful to very useless. Aiding Jenny in her battles against evil and everyday life are her good friends Brad,Tuck, and Sheldon.
Brad is an outgoing and adventurous dude who kinda thinks of himself as a Ladies man. He's also Jenny's next door neighbor and best friend. Tuck is Brad's goofy little brother, who tags along with his big bro and Jenny.
Sheldon is an uber-nerd inventor who has a crush on Jenny. He often fights crime in a robotic battle suit called The Silver Shell. Dr. Nora Wakeman is Jenny's mother and creator, who refuses to except Jenny's human name (she always calls her by her robot name,xj9). Though an uptight old woman at times,Wakeman is quite the genius and one of the worlds greatest inventors. She can also hold her own in battle.
Britt and Tiff aka The Crust Cousins are Jenny's school Rivals. They are the most popular girls in Jenny's school. They are always 10 steps ahead of the latest fashion trends. They are also 2 of the biggest jerks in the world. Making Jenny look stupid is one of their hobbies.
Jenny battles many many many many many Mutants and Robots of the day,but she does have some regular enemies. First up is Killgor,a cute 8 inch wind-up robot that everyone just seems to love. Killgor claims to be the greatest evil known, but in reality he's just a little fast-talking buffoon.
Jenny's biggest enemy is The Cluster,a race of robots ruled by Queen Vexus. Vexus is a ruthless Queen who aims to enslave and/or destroy all mankind on earth. She constantly tries to get Jenny to join the Cluster. Of course Jenny always refuses.
Smytus is Vexus' ruthless General, who almost always leads the attack on earth. Smytus is Vexus' favorite servant. Krackus is Vexus' scatter-brained inventor, who's inventions always seem to fall apart. One thing you'll notice about Vexus' forces is that they are all modeled after insects.
My Life as a Teenage Robot is an entertaining show. The Artwork is decent and has a retro-american look to it. Which is either a plus or a munus, depending on your art tastes. The Music is also decent and goes with the show well. The animation is good and errorless.
This show also contains both action and humor. Overall, this show isn't that bad and is worth watching atleast once.
Well that's it for now. See ya next time on...Cartoon Quickie!

Cartoon Quickie: Freakazoid
Faster than a laser beam, more powerful than a bullet train, able to annoy more super villains in a single day. It's Freakazoid!
Freakazoid is one of Warner Bros. funniest cartoons. Freakazoid is a crazy superhero who battles with a variety of weird super villains. In some ways this show is kinda like the Tick.
Anyway,The story goes like this: Giga-Nerd,Dexter Douglas gets a computer program for X-Mas. During the installation,Dexter gets sucked into his computer and is transformed into Freakazoid. When he returns to the real world,Dex finds out that he can transform into the Freakazoid by saying the words "Freak Out". Freakazoid can turn back into Dexter by saying "Freak In".
Anyway, after causing some mischief with his powers,Freakazoid decides to use his Powers to help mankind....in a comedic way,of course.
Freakazoid is really awesome, but even he needs support characters. First there's Sgt. Mike Cosgrove,a middle-aged cop who Freakazoid constantly hangs out with. He looks just like a toon version of his VA,Ed Asner.
The next character is,Freakazoids perky love interest,Steff. Steff is also one of the most popular girls in Dexter's school. And of course, there's Roddy MacStew,an ill-tempered Scottsman who's sort of like Freakazoid's mentor.
And no Superhero show is complete without the Villains. Villains like:The Lobe,a man with a Brain for a head;Candle Jack,a creepy boogieman-like bad guy;The Cave Guy,a caveman who sometimes acts civilized;Invisibo,an evil invisible Pharaoh; And of course,Guitierrez,a bad guy who later gain's similar powers to Freakazoid.
I haven't watched the show in a great while, not even on Youtube (because youtube stupidly takes down full episodes). So I don't remember all of the characters, just the ones mentioned.
Anyway,This show is very funny. It has humor that people of all ages can enjoy. Than again it Is a Warner Bros. cartoon show. The writing is just brilliant (which is a lot more than I can say for todays tv shows). The music is alright, nothing spectacular. Although,I Do love that Theme Song.
The artwork is as good as it gets for a 90's Warner Bros. Cartoon. Same goes for the animation. I can't think of any major negatives right now,but I'm sure they exist.
So is the show worth watching? Yes. However,if you love your Superhero shows to be serious and nothing but, you'll definatly Not like Freakazoid.
Well that's all for now. see ya next time on...Cartoon Quickie.

Cartoon Quickie: Animaniacs
Ah,the Warner Siblings,3 crazy kids always causing mischief with their crazy antics. Y'know to this day these guys still make me laugh. I Love these guys.
Anyway,The Story goes like this in the late 40's 3 zany cartoon characters were created. Those characters were the Warner Siblings. However, the Warners were downright uncouth and uncontrollable. So uncontrollable that they started causing havoc around town with their crazy antics.
Sometime later, the Warners were captured and sealed within the WB Water Tower. However in 1994 The Warners manage to break out and waste no time in doing what they do best,be crazy.
Of the Warner Siblings there's Yakko Warner, the comedic leader;Wakko Warner, the crazy one;and Dot Warner, the cute one and lone female of the group.
Of course the Warners aren't the only characters in this show. There's Dr. Otto Scratchensniff,Psychiatrist to the Stars;Hello Nurse, the studio Nurse and crush of the Warner boys; Ralph, the security guard; and Thaddeus Plotz, the head honcho at Warner studios.
Other characters of the show include: Pinky and The Brain,an intelligent mouse and his dopey sidekick, who wanna take over the world; Button's and Mindy,a small girl and a dog,who are the stars of a cartoon that seems to be lassie spoof;Rita and Runt,a Cat/Dog team of wanderers; The Good Feathers,3 Pidgons who are a spoof of the Goodfellas; And,of course,Slappy Squirrel,an old,yet funny Squirrel. Oh and there's Mr. Skullhead as well.
Animaniacs is an Awesome show with humor for people of all ages. A lot of the humor of this show is very reminiscent of Looney Toons. The Animation,Music, and Storylines are all Top Notch. The show does have it's share of problems, however they are too minor to mention.
So there you have it a mini-review of Animaniacs. If you can find the show on DVD,buy it. Believe me,it's worth it.

Cartoon Quickie: American Dragon Jake Long
Jake Long,A Teenager with the ability to turn into a Dragon, battles the forces of evil and defends Magical creatures.
Jake is an American teenager who battles Evil by turning into a Dragon. In his Dragon form Jake can Fly,Glide,Breath Fire,Attack with his tail and Claws, and use Martial Arts.
In this form,Jake is Known only as The American Dragon. Whenever things go bad for Jake,he almost always says his signature phrase "Aw,Man!". While a great kid,Jake sometimes doesn't take his job as a hero seriously.
Jake comes from a line of 'Dragon Morphs'(for lack of a better name) on his Mother's side. His Father is an ordinary man with an ordinary family tree.
Training Jake in the ways of the Dragon is his Grandpa,Lao Shi. Like Jake,Lao Shi can also turn into a Mighty Dragon. Lao Shi in a way is the Master Splinter of the series. He's very wise, yet has a decent sense of humor. In his heyday,Lao Shi was the Chinese Dragon and a secret agent.
Sometimes,Lao Shi aids his Grandson in battle. When he's not helping Jake,Lao Shi runs a small Antique Store with Jake's Animal Guardian,Fu-Dog.
Fu-Dog is Jake's wise cracking, food lovin',lazy Animal Guardian. As a fighter,Fu is pretty much useless. However, just Because Fu Dog is a bad fighter, doesn't mean he's completely useless. Haylie is Jake's cute little sister. Like her Brother and Grandpa, she too can turn into a Dragon. Haylie is playful and sometimes likes to upstage her Brother.
Jake's Mom,unlike her Father and Children, can't transform into a Dragon. But that's fine, because she doesn't need to. She's a great mom and is always there to give her Children moral support.
Jake's Dad is 100% Normal. By observing him closely,It would be very tough to believe that he is Jake's Father. Mr.Long is a bit of a geek and works as a pencil pusher. He's still a good guy though. Mr.Long doesn't know about the heritage of his wife's side of the family.
Trixie and Spud are Jake's best friends and sidekicks. Trixie is a hip-talking chick with attitude. While,Spud is your typical baffoonish buddy. Both Trixie and Spud are great friends and help Jake in any way that they can.
The Huntsman/HuntsMaster is the Leader of the Huntsclan,a ruthless organization that hunts magical creatures. The Huntsman/HuntsMaster is Jake's Main Enemy. Rose aka Huntsgirl is a Member of the Huntsclan and Jake's crush. In early episodes,Both Jake and Rose were unaware of each others secret identities.
The Theme Song is great and there are 2 variations of it(1 for each season). The Music fits well and the sounds effects are perfect. The Voices Actors are very good. Dante Boscoe(i think that's his name),aka Prince Zuko, does a Great job as Jake Long.
The Animation and Artwork of American Dragon:Jake Long is pretty good. The Fight scenes are entertaining. Plus, like all Disney Cartoons,ADJL has no Animation errors.Another good thing about this swhow is the Fact that it contains Humor to go along with the action.
While the series is Awesome,It has it's flaws. For instance, the series ended too soon, leaving some unanswered questions Also,In some ways this show feels like a clone of Nickelodeon's Danny Phantom. Another thing that kinda annoyed me,was the constant slang.
American Jake Long is a great series and If you can find it on Youtube, watch it.

Cartoon Quickie: Swat Kats
Rockin' the Sky-Ways in their Jet,the Turbokat,is the Swat Kats, ace pilots who defend Megacat City against the forces of Evil. Chance and Jake are 2 Salvage Yard workers, who always manage to have fun on the job.
But,when trouble arises,Chance and Jake become T-Bone and Razor, the Swat Kats. Team Work plays a very large part in the Swat Kat's victories. T-Bone's awesome piloting skills combined with Razor's sharp shooting, make the Swat Kats an unstoppable team.
But even without the Turbokat,The Swat Kats can still kick ass. They each posses fighting skills and a gadget glove called the Glove-O-Tricks. Supporting the Swat Kats is the beautiful Deputy Mayor,Calico Briggs;Lt. Felina Feral of the Enforcers;and Ann Gorah,a Reporter who will do whatever it takes to get a story.
Callie is the Swat Kat's biggest supporter and always defends them when Commander Feral speaks badly about them. Calli is smart, but sometimes she ends up being a DiD.
Felina appeared in season 2 and is the neice of Commander Feral. She lends the Swat Kats a hand when ever she can. Ann Gora is,in a way,the OT April O'Niel of the Swat Kat's World. Meaning she's a head strong reporter that doubles as a DiD.
Commander Feral is the leader of the Enforcers, the Swat Kat version of the Police. Feral doesn't like the Swat Kats and hopes that one day he'll have a chance to arrest them. Deep down, though,I think Feral is just jealous of their abilities...and maybe the fact that they have a cool jet like the Turbokat.
Running Mega Kat City is Mayor Manx. This guy is your typical politician. He's cowardly too. Though,he did save the city once, when he was forced to shoot down a Ghost Pilot.
Megakat City has it's fair share of Villains. Villains like: The Sinister Mutant,Dr. Viper; The Fascist and Undead Time Wizard,The Past Master; The Metalicats,a dead mob couple who were ressurected as robots; And the Demonic Dark Kat.
Swat Kats has got to be one of Hanna-Barbara's greatest animated shows. The fast action, good writing, and great art work make this show an instant classic.
Sure every character in this show is a humanoid cat,but it's still awesome nonetheless. The only gripe I have,is the fact that the show only lasted 2 seasons. In my opinion it should've lasted more.

Cartoon Quickie: Hulk Hogan's Rock N' Wrestling
Hulk Hogan is the most famous Wrestler ever. but did you know he had a Cartoon series? It's true?
The series starred animated versions of WWE/WWF superstars of that era. The heroes were: Hulk Hogan(natch),Andre The Giant(who was portrayed as very slow witted),Captain Lou Albano,Tito Santana,The Junkyard Dog,and Wendi Richter.
Representing the bad guys were: Rowdy Roddy Pipper,Big John Studd,Mr. Fuji(omega sized kudos if you remember who he is),Nikolai Volkoff,The Iron Sheik, and Fabulous Moolah(r.i.p.).
In each episode, when they're not wrestling,Hogan and his crew help out their friends, participate in community service,or do charity events. This is easier said than done, because Piper and his friends constantly try to sabotage the hero's work.
But in the end,Piper's deeds backfire and everything turns out alright.
The Show lasted a single season and, like 49% of 80's cartoons, had animation flawes. The show itself wasn't very good as 95.5% of the series contained mediocre-bad story telling. It was also kinda corny at times.
On the up side, the theme music is kinda cool.

Cartoon Quickie: Kim Possible
Kim Possible is a girl who lives up to her surname. She can do anything. Teenager,Kim Possible and her boyfriend/sidekick Ron Stoppable are heroes who go around the world battling evil.
Bad guys such as Professor Dementor,Lord Monkeyfist, and of course Dr.Drakken and Shego. But Kim and Ron are not alone in their battle against evil. They have help from Rufus, the naked molerat and Wade, the young dispatcher and inventor.
With it's awesome action, good animation, and great music,Kim Possible is possibly one of Disney's greatest action cartoons. As awesome as Kim Possible is,the show isn't without its flaws. Sometimes the the fight scenes aren't all that great and some of the newer villains are kinda lame.
Kim Possible is a great show and I highly recomend watching it...at least once.
