Hey Toonsters,
Sorry I haven't been blogging for a while. I was busy with other stuff, including one hobby I haven't done in a while and that was writing, mostly fanfiction. However, I wish I could've done it under better circumstances, especially ending January on a somber note with the passing of three famous people, starting with one voice actor I did mention a long time ago in my Mummies Alive! review.
On January 6, 2025, Canadian voice actor Dale Wilson died from complications from both prostate cancer and Parkinson's Disease. He was 82 years old. Wilson, as I mentioned in my Mummies Alive! review was the voice of Ja-Kal, but he also voiced other characters that I remember correction, such as Capt. Grid-Iron, Mutt, Overkill and Skydive in the DIC version of G.I. Joe, Big Boss Graves from The Adventures of T-Rex, Sir Lewis Leon Paradim from The Bots Master and he was the original voice of Cell from the Ocean dub of Dragon Ball Z.
Next from the world of voice acting to the world of sports.
On January 16, 2025, Former baseball player turned sports announcer and actor Bob Uecker died, 10 days shy of his birthday. He was 90 years old. Known the world over as "Mr. Baseball", Uecker started his career as his nickname applies, a baseball player, who was the catcher for teams like the Milwaukee (later Atlanta) Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, and Philadelphia Phillies. He later had a career as a broadcast announcer, mostly for the Milwaukee Brewers up until 2024. He was also an actor, best known for not only playing sportswriter George Owens in the hit ABC sitcom, Mr. Belvedere, but also sports announcer Harry Doyle from the Major League movie series. We will miss his sense of humor and funny wit, whether in sports, or in movies and TV.
And now, back the world of voice acting, and announcing another passing of another voice actor. But not just any voice actor, this man defined a generation and help fans like myself become great people in the long haul.
On December 20th, 2024, veteran voice actor John Erwin has died. He was 88 years old. Mostly a private person and never attended a convention (and I don't blame him and we can all respect his privacy), Erwin was best known for voice such characters as Morris the Cat from 9Lives cat food commercials, Reggie Mantle from the Filmation Archie cartoons, Ronald Radford III from The Thing cartoon segments in Fred and Barney meets The Thing, and our most favorite of them all, being the voice of the most powerful man in the universe, He-Man from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. As He-Man (and his alter-ego Prince Adam), he gave us the very things we got through all the life lessons we watched, strength, courage, wisdom, safety, honesty, willpower among other things. He-Man, along with Duke, Lion-O and especially Optimus Prime, have define a generation and through their moral compass, we strife to be better for the long haul. He died of natural causes, but his death was announced January 31, 2025 through Facebook by Melendy Britt, the voice of He-Man's twin sister, She-Ra. Thanks for the memories, good sir. As long as all the life lessons are within us, you will never truly be gone. May King Grayskull watch over you always. Be at peace, Son of Randor.
Thank you for all the memories, my dear friends. Thank you for my making my childhood so awesome.

The Death of all 3 of these Legends was devastating news...especially John Erwin's.
Yeah. Through He-Man, his strength and his morals will live on within us forevermore. We will forever be grateful to him. I didn't even know he passed away. I was told through Melendy Britt on Facebook near the end of the month, after he died on December 20th of last year. But as long as we remember him, especially being the voice of He-Man, he will never truly be gone. Godspeed to the greatest hero of all Eternia. Be at peace.
