Voice Actors Overlooked! - A Retro Rebellion Exclusive

For as long as animation (or any form of media like gaming) exists, there has been one true constant, especially in bring our favorite characters to life (besides pen and paper), and that is the art of voice acting. Voice acting goes way back in in the early 1900s, with the advent of radio. Originally done for radio serials, news, weather, bible stuff and so forth, it was not until 1928 with the first Mickey Mouse cartoon done with sound and voices, Steamboat Willie. And since then, voice acting slowly started to get steam, especially done by legendary voice actors, such as Daws Butler, June Foray and especially the Man of a Thousand Voices, Mel Blanc. And for the next several decades, voice actors come in all shapes and sizes, especially with those who brought our favorite characters to life, including Neil Ross, Cam Clarke, B.J. Ward, Casey Kasem, Don Messick, Jim Cummings, Dan Gilvezan, Frank Welker, Larry Kenney, Tara Strong, Kevin Conroy, Jodi Benson, Peter Cullen, and so on and so forth. And it is not just in the good ol' U.S. of A, it is in other countries like Japan with Seiyuu like Kotono Mitsuishi, Aya Hisakawa, Toru Furuya and Takeshi Kusao and even Canada has awesome voice actors like Scott McNeil, Michael Donovan, Ward Perry, Matt Hill, Terri Hawkes, Susan Roman, Katie Griffin, Linda Ballantyne, Lucas Gilbertson, Mark Hildreth, Andrew Francis and Mark Gatha. When all these voice actors voice their characters, they are not just the characters' voices, they are the characters and that is why we loved them very much, especially with Kevin Conroy as Batman, Jodi Benson as Ariel and especially Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. But, there is one, little, itty-bitty problem, they are being overlooked.

You see, voice actors, as much as we like them so, are not, according to the news media, well known, like all the regular actors, sports athletes, music makers and other famous people combined.  They are often ignored, pushed aside, or not mentioned at all, even if some pass away like Susan Aceron, Norm Spencer and the aforementioned June Foray and Mel Blanc (even if some news outlets mentioned the two). In short, unlike all famous people, voice actors don't have the same admiration and respect as they do. While regular actors have all the glitz and glamour, voice actors are normal, decent people. If you look beyond their physical appearances and hear their performances with their voices, you know, they deserve that same admiration and respect as all famous people combined.

But, I am planning to bring justice for all voice actors. You see, one of the legendary voice actors, Michael Bell, is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. I talked to him on Facebook long ago about this issue and he agrees with me about it. Shoot, I even wrote this letter to all the news outlets, which I didn't send it yet, but I think you take a look before I make my move or rewrite to make it better. This was written after Susan Aceron's passing.

Here is what you have to do. If you have social media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and so forth, leave a message to them with the hashtag, #RespectVoiceActors, to show your support for voice actors in our quest to give them the admiration and respect they so rightfully deserve.

One of my friends, Christopher Tenney, wanted to do a news magazine themed program, in the same manner like CBS Sunday Morning, but devoted to animation, including voice acting. If you want to talk to him about it, his email is at the bottom of the blog.

Bottom line, voice actors have been overlooked long enough. It is time to give them same respect as all famous people, before animation becomes a dead genre. Not just for all voice actors living, but for those who are no longer among us. For justice, for freedom, for honesty, for voice acting!

If you want to give the Screen Actors Guild a piece of your mind, demanding voice actors the same recognition as all actors, their address is below the blog, along with Mr. Tenney's email address. Until next time, stay frosty, my friends.

Saraba da (Farewell)...for now!

Remembering WWF Hasbro Figure Line

If you were a Wrestling fan way back in the day,you likely owned some figures from Hasbro's WWF Line. The line began in 1990 and lasted until mid-1994 with the Green Card series.

Each of the figures were well made and had their own Action Features. Infact, there were multiple varients of the WWF's most popular stars, such as Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior.

The line ended abruptly, when Hasbro lost the licence in 1994. An Orange Card series was planned, but was never produced. The only remainder of this line were some prototype pics.

This was a great line, but it did have one major flaw. In terms of roster Hasbro was late by a year or two, with their "Macho Man" Randy Savage figures being proof of that. Another perfect example was that there were figures released of Wrestlers that were no longer with the company. The Dusty Rhodes figure released in 1991 during the 2nd wave immediatly comes to mind.

Reguardless,I love this Toyline and have several figures from it myself. It's a shame this line ended so suddenly,it was truely great. So today,I'm gonna take a look at what could have been if Hasbro kept the WWF Licence. Hypathetical Figure Waves as it were.

The Hart Foundation broke up before the Figure Pack could be released. Plus,Jim Neidhart was taking time off from Television.

By the time The Tugboat Figure was being produced, the Character had turned Heel and became Typhoon.

Ultimate Warrior left the WWF while his "Chest Beating Figure" was produced. Rumor has it that it was an 'Ultimate Maniacs' Version of the Warrior.

Beefcake also left the WWF before his Figure was produced.

As for Shawn Micheals..who knows.

Jason's Gallery - Nefer-Tina: Dancer of the Nile!

By day, she dresses up like a man to ride chariots. But by night, to honor her father's wishes, she serves as one of the Pharaoh's harem girls, by being a dancer at the royal palace. As a bellydancer, Nefer-Tina is as beautiful and serene as the River Nile itself.

Remember my suggestion in one of my crossover ideas in my Mummies Alive! review, which extending upon Nefer-Tina's backstory? Well, lo and behold, Nefer-Tina, in all of her bellydancing glory! This is my first actual Mummies Alive fanart I have ever done, believe it or not. I cut a lot of corners to get this done, especially with her animal totem. You see, in the cartoon, Nefer-Tina's animal totem, which is the Cat, looks more like a bear than a cat, judging from its ears. So, I made the ears more cat-like on her totem than how it looked in the cartoon. And I have perfected the see-through skirt a little bit more like my last ones I did. If walking like an Egyptian sounds more sexiful, than count me in, especially with Nefer-Tina seducing us with her beauty. Not bad for someone who dresses up like a man and ride chariots.

If you like to know more about this, check out my Toon Ninja Reviews Mummies Alive! review on this blog. It will explain everything, especially the other crossover ideas I have in mind.

The Fictional History of Metro City!

As far back as I can remember, for centuries, for millennia, for many years, in the world of fiction, every comic, cartoon, anime and even video games always have a setting. Sometimes, our stories take place in real cities like New York City or Los Angeles, or taking place in fictional places like Metropolis, Cybertron or Equestria. But, there is one place that have existed for quite a long, yet confusing, time. No matter what genre we like, or what games we play or comics we read or what type of animation we watch, the one place that has such a confusing history is the fictional town known as Metro City.

No one knows who came up with the name Metro City. But for a long time, the setting of this similarly named town was used in any shape or form in all forms of media, such as gaming and in animation. Here are some examples of this similarly named town in all its forms.

Inspector Gadget: The very cartoon, if I remember correctly, was the first of many that carries the name, Metro City. In this continuity, Metro City was the home of Inspector Gadget, along with his niece Penny and their family dog, Brain, where Gadget does his usual activities like a parent (or legal guardian) would do before being called away on an assignment by Chief Quimby. Although his cases take him all over the world, but some of them take place in Metro City itself. But since then, no thanks in part by the live action films (which I elected to ignore), Metro City was renamed Riverton, OH. Moving on, from one DIC cartoon to another, I give you...

Double Dragon: We all know the history of this beat'em up series. Two brothers, fighting a group of thugs in a city to rescue the girl. Aside from the first episode (which was based on the first game), not in this cartoon adaptation. Other than Billy and Jimmy Lee getting magic swords and all, this video game-based cartoon took place in their version of Metro City. While the original game series took place in real life places (sometimes in a post-apocalyptic New York like Mad Max, and sometimes a worn-down city, riddled with crime), this version of Metro City is mostly clean and just, but does look worn out in some places, especially with the Shadow Master trying to cover it into eternal darkness. Speaking of beat'em ups, this leads us to our next one...

Final Fight:
One of the crown jewels of Capcom, and one of the crown jewels of beat'em ups to come. Just like Double Dragon, this version of Metro City was riddled with crime, perpetrated by the ruthless Mad Gear Gang. But unlike Double Dragon, in this universe, Metro City had a mayor who vowed to clean up the streets, in more ways than one, in the form of retired pro-wrestler, Mike Haggar, who, along with Cody and Guy, vowed to put the beat down on the Mad Gear Gang, especially when they crossed the line when they kidnapped Haggar's daughter, Jessica, who is also Cody's girlfriend. Now, let us fast forward into the future with...

Captain Commando: Unlike Inspector Gadget and Double Dragon, this beat'em up, which features Capcom's original mascot before Megaman, has ties with the aforementioned Final Fight and takes place in Metro City in the year 2026, further in the future. In this future, Metro City has been overrun by an evil entity known as Scumicide and his pack of super-powered criminals and it's up to Captain Commando and his teammates, Baby Head, Mack the Knife and Ginzu the Ninja (Hoover, Jennety and Sho in the Japanese version) to stop them.

In short, no one knows how the name or city of Metro City came to be. All I know is, if Metro City wasn't that confusing and since we got a big imagination, this fictional town would've been a haven for all the aforementioned titles I have mentioned. Almost in a style of crossovers. No one knows what the future holds for this fictional city. Only time will tell, if the next cartoon, anime, comic or video game has another town with a familiar name...like Metro City. Until next time, stay frosty.

Saraba da (Farewell)...for now.

A Personal Nostalgia Post

It's been a while since I posted anything. So,I'm gonna post something totally random and something that I've always wanted to do. A post dedicated to Personal Internet Nostalgia..namely My Own.

My First experience with the Net was with AOL in 1997 when my family got our first computer for XMas of that year. And starting in 2001,I was able to get my own personal PC. Now then, let's take a trip back into time and feel the Nostalgia Vibes.

Our first stop will be to a site that's MEGA Awesome. The Oldest Surviving Mega Man site,The Mega Man Home Page. http://www.mmhp.net

I used to love visiting here in my younger days. Don't forget to check the Links section for some more cool Mega Man sites, both new And old. Another Mega Man site that I loved way back in the day was Rockman's World,my very first glimpse into the Japanese side of the Franchise. So e a Cool Frood and have a look: https://maelgrim.tripod.com/Rockman.html

Moving ahead. Remember Geocities? It was one of the most popular hosting networks on the Net back in the late-90's and Early 2000's. The network is gone now,but thankfully, most of their sites have been archived. http://www.oocities.org/#gsc.tab=0

Sweet, huh? all you have to do is type in the kind of site you wanna see in the search bar and you're there. I used to love browsing the various Geocities pages back in the day. Anglefire,Dragonfire, and Tripod/Lycos were also cool networks. Wonder what happened to them? I'll check things out later.

In the meantime, let's continue this trip, shall we.

Next up is something from my teen years. It may not have much relevence to you,but it has some sentemental value to me. Back in the day, where I'm from, there was a Public Access channel called CTV,the shows were hit and miss, but it had a cool thing called CTV-i,an interactive information service. The service was discontinued in 2001,due to the growing popularity of the Internet.

CTV-i was Staten Island's Pre-Internet goto place for fun and information. I'll talk more about This information service some time, but for now, enjoy the old CTV site (what's left of it anyway) https://web.archive.org/web/19980415063853/http://www.sictv.org/special.html

Yeah,it's not much,but... Anyway,let's move on to 3 Power Ranger based sites,I used to frequent back in the early-mid 2000's. http://rangercentral.com/  https://www.grnrngr.com/ https://www.rovang.org/

Granted these sites had been though some major changes since then, but I still highly recommend them to All Power Rangers fan. The next leg of our tour brings us to a sjte that holds lots of nostalgic value to me. One of the very first Sailor Moon sites I've ever visited. It's Hitoshi Doi's Sailor Moon Encyclopedia. http://www.usagi.org/doi/smoon/

So many memories. While we're still on tbe subject of Sailor Moon. Here's a site that I descovered in the Mid-2000's. it's grown a great deal since then, but it remains a fun site for All Sailor Moon fans. Plus,it's run by a seriously cool dude. http://www.sailorenergy.net/TheRealm.html

As you can tell, besides being an awesome guy,J.A. is also an awesome artist. Now the final Sailor Moon Site is a divisive one,but I have some fun memories on it. It's S.O.S. (unrelated to Kofi Kingston's old WWE theme). http://www.saveoursailors.org

Now,for some Sonic Love. Y'know, this year is the Hedgehog's 30th Anniversary,so it'd be appropriate to revisit this site. http://sost.emulationzone.org/

Back in the day I was huge on Emulation,so I frequented this site often. http://www.emulationzone.org/

Another emulation site that I visited often was Zopher's Domain. https://www.zophar.net/

They also had/have Video Game music, ripped from the games themselves. Speaking of Video Game Music. Here's a blast from our past. https://www.vgmusic.com/

Midi music can be such a nostalgic experience. But hold on to your hats,we ain't done yet. Super Mario Franchise is one of my all-time faves and I've always loved this site sites https://themushroomkingdom.net/

How about some general Nintendo sites. http://www.world-of-nintendo.com/ http://atarihq.com/tsr/ http://www.videogamesprites.net/

Now let's visit some Captain N fansites of the past. First we have Mark Moore's (in)famous site, with reviews of Every episode https://ldloveszh.tripod.com/reviews.html and The Captain N Homepage http://captainn.net/main.html

We are now in the final leg of our Time Trip. We'll start with 2 classic Final Fantasy sites The FF7 Citadel and FF Origins. http://www.ff7citadel.com/ http://www.fforigins.com/

Here's a general RPG site I visited too. This place has lots of helpful walkthroughs. http://alexandria.rpgclassics.com/

Another game site I used to love back in the day was GameFAQs. Anyway,we're now gonna take a trip to a memorable fighting game/beat em-up fansite that originated in the mid-2000's. http://scrollboss.illmosis.net/mainmenu.php

This is the very site that got me into M.U.G.E.N. Anywhoo, for our final destination is not something from my past, but can take me to it. In fact,it can take anyone back. It's the Internet Wayback Machine. http://web.archive.org/

All you have to do is type in the Web Address and you're there. You can even see what an existing site looked like decades ago. Speaking Searching and Web Addresses,AOL and Yahoo had pretty great search engines. Of course this was before they were made obsolete by Google many years later.

Before we return to the present, there's one more Nostalgia trip I wanna share with you. It's The Realm of everyones favorite Mega Man 3-based team,The Mechanical Maniacs http://themechanicalmaniacs.com/

Well that was a fun trip back into my personal internet past, huh? Hope everyone enjoyed it. Until next ti e,Stay Gold,Space Cowboys.

Jason's Gallery - Bellydancer Ami: Tribute to Aya Hisakawa

English Cover Art with the Moon and Sun with Ami in between.

Japanese Cover Art, a recreation of the bellydancing end scene from Lupin III: The Secret of Twilight Gemini.

Behold! I present to you my latest artwork and this one is another long time in the making, especially being a fan of Sailor Moon, particularly being a fan of our lovely brainiac, Ami Mizuno aka Sailor Mercury. And why is Ami dressed up as a beautiful, exotic bellydancer, you ask? I'll tell you. The reason Ami is a bellydancer in those two custom made cover arts, that would be perfect for a compilation music album, whether in vinyl, or in CD form or as a music download, was the fact it is a small tribute to Ami's original Japanese voice, Aya Hisakawa, who also did other voices, such as Kero from Cardcaptor Sakura, Bulma in Dragon Ball Super after the passing of her original seiyuu, Hiromi Tsuru and of course, the Geltic rebel, Lara from the Lupin III special, The Secret of Twilight Gemini. Speaking of which, Aya is not only a voice actress, but also a very talented singer. She did many J-Pop songs around her career between voice overs and music, but the two songs she sang became my favorite and there were from the aformetioned Lupin special. The songs are Harukana Kaze (Wind in the Distance) and most importantly, the end theme itself, Tsuki to Taiyou no Meguri (Joining of the Moon and Sun), which played in the ending where Lara was bellydancing, just like her predecessor, Lorre.

And these cover arts are a tribute to such a lovely talent. Here's to you, Ms. Hisakawa. Thank you for making Ami so cute and so smart, but also making Tsuki to Taiyou no Meguri a must for all our bellydancer fantasies to come. Until next time, stay frosty and to quote Ami herself...

Douse yourself with water, and repent!

Show Ideas - Dial 'H' for Hero

Dial 'H' for Hero promotional fanart by Jason Andrew Ayala. Upper Left: Atrocitus,  Lower Left: Earth-1 Green Arrow, Earth-1 Flash, Earth-38 Supergirl (Kara Zor-El), Dinah Drake (Black Canary II), Vibe (Cisco Ramon), Killer Frost (Caitlin Snow), Upper Right: Earth-12 Green Arrow, Earth-12 Black Canary (Dinah Lance), Earth-12 Flash (Wally West), Green Lantern John Stewart, Earth-12 Supergirl (Kara In-Ze), Lower Right: Earth-1 Black Canary (Laurel Lance), Middle: Hikari Eto (original character)

Since 2016, I've been dwelling in the crossroads when it comes to friendship, especially being drawn in television, especially with the Arrowverse shows on the CW. For the longest time, I was still pounding about that line from The Flash season 3 episode, Killer Frost, "Sometimes when things get broken, they can't be fixed." Wondering if that line truly means "friendship is dead." So, I wrote fan letters to the actors from the Arrowverse themselves, particularly Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Melissa Benoist and especially the one that started it all, Stephen Amell, to give me the answers I seek. But alas, they didn't respond to me, thinking they were either too busy, didn't have time to read them or they did read but threw them away and not respond to me, thinking I was a bad fan with so much emotions. But since they didn't give me the answers I seek, I figured why not bring the answers to them, when I chose to do this ambitious project I am working on. It's on the back burner at this moment (more on that later), but why don't I give you the heads up about what this project is all about.

Premise

Hikari Eto, age 17, once had a humdrum life until his life was saved by the original Black Canary, Laurel Lance. Because of that once in a lifetime moment, it inspired him to make a blog devoted to heroes. When his blog became popular, it got the attention of the other heroes, particularly Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) and Barry Allen (The Flash), who let him in on their exploits. Hikari felt that he was in a dream and living it off until everything changed with the death of Laurel. That moment started a chain reaction that changed his perspective on heroes, when he sees the infighting among themselves, believing that Caitlin Snow was a snow Yokai (spirit in Japanese) and so much self doubt among other things. Because of that, he ran away from home and ended up on Earth-12, believing that heroes will not lose their capacity for good there. Feeling ashamed for what they have done, the Earth-1 heroes, along with Earth-38 Supergirl, travel to Earth-12 to find Hikari and try to show him what a real hero is all about, while meeting with other heroes from other Earths, battling other villains and becoming a hero himself.

Hikari Eto is a 17 year old high school student, born of Japanese descent. His name, roughly translates to "Light Wisp" or taken from the Japanese name, "Eto no Hikari", which roughly translates to "Wisp of Light." In his physical appearance, he is 5'7", weighs around 138-140 lbs., slim, but fit and very athletic. He has short jet-black hair, which is a little spikey, with 4 short bangs covering his forehead and has brown eyes. His default choice of clothing are a blue t-shirt with a Japanese kanji, colored in white, which reads his first name, roughly translates to "Light", light blue demin pants with the ankles exposed, red and gold sneakers (which resembles the colors of The Flash) and occasionally, whether the weather is cold or not, wears an emerald green hoodie, in honor of the Green Arrow himself. He is bilingual in both English and Japanese, just like his parents.

His personality goes as follows: He is mostly kind, gentle, bright, naive, level-headed, brave and optimistic. But sometimes, his emotions change depending on the situation. For instance, whenever he sees his idols and something he likes that peeked his interest based on his expertise in Pop Culture, he spazes out in the most fanboyish kind of way. But in moments of sadness, he gets emotional whether he is lied to, losing his faith in heroes and idols, being compared to his father or losing the people he cares about, which he is not good in letting go. Moments like these put him in a emotional BSOD, his personal Blue Screen of Death. But when the chips were down, no matter what problems he has, no matter what mistakes he made and no matter how hard his life is, through encouragement from his friends and his only family, his mother, Kashi, he digs deep down and becomes determined to set things right. Overall, Hikari is a determined, emotional, sometimes silly, yet kind-hearted fan of heroes with a strong sense of justice.

Being a high school student, he is skilled in science, history and most importantly, journalism, which was the basis of his blog about heroes in all forms, known simply as "Dial "H" for Hero!".

He lives in an apartment building in Central City with his mother, Kashi Eto (taken from the Japanese word, Kashiwa, which roughly translates to Oak), who is around her 50s, sporting her traditional Japanese bun hairstyle, her hair color is black, her eyes are brown, sports a purple kimono with butterfly details on it. She is a fan of Marie Kondo, and is a homemaker and a seamstress, who is wise, kind and gentle beyond her years, but sometimes acts a little overprotective like any mother would. His father, Toshio, has been gone since Hikari was around 12-13 years old at the time. His reasons for leaving Kashi and Hikari are unknown at this time.

His room is like a hero's base of operations, sometimes messy. It sports his twin size bed with a quilt that resembles a dragon, has a computer desk with a Gateway computer with an internet router, has a 32" HDTV hanging on his wall, with his PS3 gaming console hooked up and with an XBOX console on the side. On his wall are posters of some featuring those from gaming, movies, music and wrestling, including his most favorites featuring, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Kamen Rider, The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E) from WWE and his idol from New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Kazuchika Okada. His shelf contains his games, DVDs, Blu-Rays and music CDs, including those of Pink Floyd, Beethoven and Metallica (which are his favorite music artists), along with his collectable figures, including Kamen Rider Black RX and Kamen Rider ZO. And his door is equipped with a specially made doorbell, which sounds like the door chime aboard the USS Enterprise-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

His main accessory at the time was his mobile phone, which he likes to take pictures with or keep in touch with either his mother or his friends.

Being athletic and active, Hikari was trained in many forms of Martial Arts, including Karate, Kung-Fu, Jujitsu and Judo. He was trained by the very person who he sees as his "Onii-chan" or older sister, the original Earth-1 Black Canary, Laurel Lance, who was alive at the time and was the inspiration for his blog, "Dial "H" for Hero!" after she saved his life during the war against Ra's al-Ghul and the League of Assassins. Although very skilled in self-defense like Black Canary and Green Arrow, Hikari, unlike The Flash, doesn't have any superpowers. At least, not yet...

Hikari Eto is what I describe as both an original character and a legacy character (more on that in a moment). For the original character part, Hikari is based on me, being a normal person with a great big imagination and always idolizing his heroes, from fictional ones like Kamen Rider to real life ones like Japanese pro-wrestler Kazuchika Okada and legendary comedienne, Carol Burnett. As for legacy character (not if it makes any difference whether or not this show will get picked up), in this continuity, Hikari is the son of Professor Toshio Eto. In case you don't know that name, that is the real name of the superhero known as Samurai, who never appeared in the comics. However, he did first appeared in the Superfriends cartoons, one of many superheroes born of their respective nationalities alongside other heroes like Apache Chief, El Dorado, and Black Vulcan (since they couldn't use Black Lightning due to issues with co-creator, Tony Isabella). Of all the heroes I have mentioned, Samurai was the only one to not only have a real name, but also an origin story to boot:

Toshio Eto was a college professor, studying mostly about history, especially Japan. Until one day, the New Gods of New Genesis fused him powers beyond human understanding. Now fully powered and with a code of honor, Toshio vows to fight evil under his superhero name, Samurai.

Being a fan of heroes, Hikari is based on every, single fan of their heroes or favorite TV show, movie, comic and so on and so forth. This show is basically the retelling of our favorite Arrowverse shows, but from the point of view of a fan. That, and being an anthology series, involving other heroes besides Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl.

Inspiration

Dial "H" For Hero! was inspired by not only by DC's rich legacy of heroes and villains alike, such as the DC Animated Universe and the main Arrowverse itself, but it was also inspired by other forms of media like movies, gaming, literature and other TV shows:

- The Wizard of OZ

- Kingdom Hearts

- Kung Fu

- Doogie Howser, M.D. (For the life lessons at the end of every episode)

- Batman: The Brave and the Bold

- The Hero's Journey by Joseph Campbell

- Real Life Fanbases (The Point of View of Fandom)

Setting

For the most part, the show takes place on Earth-1, where Hikari lives in Central City, and it takes place before Crisis on Infinite Earths, but this is just the settting for season 1 (more on the possibilities on the seasons later). Anyway, here is the main setting for the 4-part pilot episode:

- Takes place during Pre-Crisis (First season only)

- Takes place within the respective seasons of the other Arrowverse shows:

Arrow: Seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6

The Flash: Seasons 3 and 4

Supergirl: Between season 2 and 3

*DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Between season 2 and 3

* - The Legends will be a part of this story, but they will be briefly mentioned in Part 2, but won't appear until Part 4.

Appearances of Heroes

For an anthology show about heroes, this wouldn't be a show without a who's who from the entire DC Universe, especially those in the Arrowverse. Aside from heroes from Earth-12 aka the DC Animated Universe and the main Arrowverse heroes, here is a small list of heroes that should appear on the show:

Blue Beetle (Jamie Reyes, who in this series becomes Hikari's best friend, in case Cisco isn't here)
Booster Gold
Zatanna
Swamp Thing
Vixen (Mari McCabe)
Black Lightning (who already has a show, but needs a point/counterpoint view on certain issues)
Static (Virgil Hawkins, who also becomes Hikari's friend and idolizes Black Lightning later on)
Jessica Cruz (Another Green Lantern and another friend to Hikari, and something more)
Razor (Who first appears as a Red Lantern gone good, then becoming a Blue Lantern later on)
Starfire
Kilowog
Steel (John Henry Irons, not Nate Heywood aka Citizen Steel from Legends of Tomorrow)
Orion (Son of Darkseid, but nothing like his father)
Big Barda
Mr. Miracle
Stargirl (Courtney Whitmore)
Wildcat (Yolanda Montez)
Firestorm (Earth-12 Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein)
Red Tornado
He-Man (more on that later)
Samurai (Toshio Eto, Hikari's father)

Season Rundown

Here is a short rundown of the seasons I have thought of. It isn't much, but it's a work in progress:

Pilot

17 year old Hikari Eto was a big fan of heroes, who created a blog to record their exploits. But everything changed when Laurel Lance, the original Black Canary who saved his life and was the inspiration of his blog, died protecting her city. Her death caused a chain reaction that completely destroyed his faith in heroes, when he sees his idols spend more time fighting each other than fighting evil. This prompted Hikari to run away from home and ends up on Earth-12. Feeling ashamed for their egos and selfish actions, Oliver Queen, Barry Allen, Kara Zor-El and Dinah Drake travel to Earth-12 to bring Hikari home and help him understand what true heroism is all about while dealing with another threat that will hinder their actions, the evil Red Lantern Corps and their sinister leader, Atrocitus.

Season 1: Pre-Crisis

After his time on Earth-12, Hikari begins his exploits, meeting other heroes and trying to understand what true heroism is all about, including his father, Toshio Eto, who is the superhero known as Samurai. And in turn, Hikari gets recruited by the Guardians of the Universe from planet Oa and becomes a Green Lantern. Hikari's hero's journey becomes a bit more interesting.

Season 2: Adventures in Space/Post-Crisis

When all the Earths were wiped out by Anti-Matter energy, most of the survivors from Earth-1, including Hikari and his father Toshio, ended up on Oa. Feeling down after the demise of the multiverse, Hikari travels to other planets and fight evil while coming to terms of what has transpired. Once the multiverse became one Earth, Earth Prime to be precise, Hikari returns to an Earth that is completely different to him while dealing with an evil that is more deadlier than Atrocitus and Sinestro combined, the fear mongering entity known as Parallax. Everything he knew was gone...or so he thought.

I would go on, but I don't want to go any further than that. But I will tell you this. Season 3 will have inter-dimensional travel from one Earth to another. But how you ask. Once I get to that, I will tell you. And in my heroes list, I put He-Man on that list and with good reason. First off, long ago, before the Filmation cartoon, He-Man did appear in DC comics, sometimes paired up with Superman and not so long ago, DC did a crossover comic with both He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and ThunderCats. And second of all, within season 3, which I call a sub-season, Hikari, instead of being on another Earth, he ends up in Eternia, where he meets He-Man and his alter ego, Prince Adam. At first he thought He-Man and Adam were different people, being that He-Man was brave and Adam was a wimpy cowardly prince. That is until he learned the hard way, during a bout against Skeletor's evil forces, that He-Man and Prince Adam are one in the same. Not to mention learning about how Adam became the most powerful man in the universe and the lineage of King Grayskull, whose castle was named after.

Everything else is a mixed bag for now. There might be a guest star or two like either WWE's New Day, especially doing their introduction that starts one episode:

Big E: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWW CENTRAL CITY!! Don't you dare feel SOUR! CLAP for your world famous multiple time CHAMPS! And FEEL the POWWWWWAAAAAAAAA!!"

Anyway, or maybe one episode featuring the great Carol Burnett, which Hikari idolizes, just like me. So much so, he visits Laurel's grave site and sings the full version of the sign off end theme from The Carol Burnett Show, ear pull and all.

As for Hikari's journey, that's for another story. Let's just say it will come to fruition and Hikari becomes a true hero, just like his father.

Actors to Play the Heroes

I know most of the heroes would be played by their respective actors. But since I am working on the pilot, here is a small list of actors to play the Earth-12 Doppelgangers, at least for the time being:

Earth-12 Green Arrow - Stephen Amell
Earth-12 Black Canary - Katie Cassidy
Earth-12 Supergirl (Kara In-Ze) - Melissa Benoist
Green Lantern John Stewart - David Ramsey
Earth-12 Martian Manhunter - David Harewood
Earth-12 Flash (Wally West) - Michael Rosenbaum
Earth-12 Huntress - Jessica De Gouw

Format

With the exception to the pilot, every episode will go as follow. Hikari does a brief voice over in the beginning of the episode (unless it's a multi-parter with the opening narration in Part 1), does his usual business (going to school, playing his video games, working on the computer, hanging out with friends, etc.), stumbling across either a problem or the villain of the week or a bit of both, meeting the hero of the week, struggling with a problem, getting pep talks from friends and/or the aforementioned hero of the week, overcoming the aforementioned villain and/or problem, everything resolved and ends with Hikari doing his blog while hearing his voice over near the end of the episode almost like how every episode of Doogie Howser, M.D. ends with Doogie doing his personal blog on his computer. Like I said, this is almost a retelling of the Arrowverse, but from the point of view of a fan.

Live Action or Animation

For the longest part, I wanted this show to be live action, just like the other Arrowverse shows. However, circumstances beyond my control put this project on hold for the time being, which resulted in my writer's block, all because of two issues that stopped me from continuing.

Issue #1: Ruby Rose, the actress who played Kate Kane in Batwoman, who left the show after just one season because of:

A. She doesn't want to get hurt

B. Her sexual orientation and how she is sensitive about it, which caused her to leave social media

C. Doesn't work well with others, William Shatner-style

D. All the Above

Issue #2: Hartley Sawyer, who played Ralph Dibny aka Elongated Man on The Flash, got fired because of some offensive tweets he made 4-5 years ago, which he regrets and apologized for just being stupid, nothing more. But, rather than settling the matter like men, one of the producers of The Flash (whose name I will not mention) dimed him out, 5-0ed him, HE TATTLED ON HIM, A'IGHT!! Almost like that scene in Spider-Man 3, where Eddie Brock got fired after Emo Peter tattled on him for forging a previous photo of Spidey. HOW TRIPPED UP IS THAT?!!

(clears throat)

Anyway, I wanted to have episodes featuring both Kate Kane (the first Batwoman) and the aforementioned Elongated Man, especially with Ralph Dibny, especially with the comedy timing on Ralph's part. But because both Ruby Rose and Hartley Sawyer left under different circumstances, it has become much harder for me to do it in live action.

Which leaves me with option #2, doing it animated, just like with Vixen, Constantine and Freedom Fighters: The Ray, especially with the DCAU characters involved, hopefully done Bruce Timm-style, and with a mix of Young Justice to go with it. If live action won't do because of those aforementioned issues, then I will go with the animated route. Either way, hopefully this would be a bit epic.

Oh, and on a side note, if this show was green lit, just like with the other Arrowverse/DC shows, they will have DC and WB Shield logos, but with a twist. Since Hikari likes to do his blogs on his computer, the first browser window will have the DC logo with the DCAU versions of Green Arrow, Black Canary, The Flash and Supergirl and the second window will have the WB Shield logo with Bugs Bunny standing next to it.

Final Thoughts

With the right motivation, purpose, determination, and not to mention cutting a lot of red tape after what has happened, I think this show has the makings of greatness within. All I wanted was to remedy this dark distain of what this fanbase has created and bring light into the darkness, just like Hikari's namesake. This show will be made for the fans, of the fans, and by the fans, just like me. Whether or not the Arrowverse will end before then, one thing's for sure, just like Sting, the only thing for sure about Hikari Eto, is nothing's for sure. But only time will tell. Until next time, folks. Stay frosty.

Saraba da (Farewell)...for now.
