Sailor Moon Crossover Ideas Vol. 2.5

Hey there, Toonsters!

  Here we are once again with giving you crossover ideas involving our favorite Pretty Soldier of Love and Justice, Sailor Moon. But, this one won't be long. In our last crossover idea blog, Stefan gave us sound ideas for more crossovers, including those involving Godzilla, Transformers, She-Ra and especially those featuring the Disney Princesses as Sailor Soldiers. This reminds me of a fanart I saw, including Ariel and Melody in front as Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibimoon, which makes perfect sense since Sailor Moon and The Little Mermaid are different, yet similar in many ways. Speaking of which, this idea I have in mind reminds me of the plot of the first of three crossover specials involving Jimmy Neutron and Timmy Turner from Fairly OddParents, which was known as the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour. Only this time, this one involves Sailor Moon and Ariel, but, this plot is different from that from the first Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour.

Tired of carrying on her mission to save the Earth and balance her life as a ordinary teenager, Usagi Tsukino doesn't want to be Sailor Moon no more. While at the same time, Ariel, as usual, longs to live her life above her ocean world. Then, a strange, powerful force, in a Freaky Friday kind of way, have switched both girls into their own worlds. While Usagi has to deal with her life as a mermaid, not to mention trying to convince King Triton that not all humans are dangerous, Ariel has to deal with not only trying to be a human, but also use the powers of Sailor Moon, especially while dealing with the reminisce of the Dark Kingdom themselves. It's hard for both girls, but with patience and courage, they can accomplish anything.

Disney Sequels That Are Good!

I'm out of Ideas at the moment so I'm once again gonna do something Disney Related(and list related).

As you know during the Eisner Era,Many of Disney's popular Animated sequels,Direct to DVD or otherwise. This trend continued in the Iger Era,but not as much.

These sequels were met with Mixed reactions from the people,many considered them cheap and tasteless. I,on the other hand,enjoyed some of them. I will now list the Disney Sequels that are Good (yes they exist,as you are about to find out).

Cars 2: The lone Pixar film on this list. Ok,my like for this movie stems from my like of Mater. He's a fun character and deserves more respect than he's given. The spy theme was kinda cool,as well as the World Grand Prix. The stupidity of the American people on the Internet is what gave this movie a bad rep. Trust me,it's not a bad movie. It may be weaker than the 1st movie,but that doesn't mean it terrible.

The Hunchback of Notredame 2: Weaker and more light hearted then the original,but still fun nevertheless.

Cinderella 3 - A Twist In Time: I like the fact that they fleshed out the characters more,and made Cinderella and the Prince badass. The plot is also good. So skip the mediocre 2nd movie and watch this one.

The Little Mermaid 2 - Return to the Sea: Not as good as the original,but still a fun movie. Jason loves this one as it's the 1st time 2 of his favorite Voice Actresses work together: Tara Strong and Jodi Benson.

The Little Mermaid 3 - Ariel's Beginning: The plot is kinda weak,but at least we get character development and we finally find out what happened to Ariel's mother.We also find out why King Triton hated humans so much.

Aladdin 2 - Return of Jafar: An awesome beginning to a great Animated series. Plus,Jafar Finally gets a villian song. My only gripe is that Robin Williams didn't return to reprise The Genie. This was due to a disagreement that he and Eisner had.

Aladdin and the King of Theives: A very good movie that gives us a little more information on Aladdin's past. It's also serves as the franchise finale. Also,did I mention that Robin Williams Returned as the Genie? because he did!

Stitch-The Movie: Takes place after the 1st movie and serves as the series premiere of Lilo and Stitch - the Series.

Lilo and Stitch 2 - Stitch Has A Glitch: Characterisation for Stitch marches on. A nice movie for Lilo and Stitch fans.

Leroy and Stitch: Serves as the franchise finale(and what a finale it is). It was cool seeing most of Jumba's experiments in action together.

The Lion King 2 -Simba's Pride: The Best of the sequels. It's just as good as the original. Great plot,great songs,good animation and artwork. Go watch it!

The Lion King 1 1/2: The Lion King told from Timon and Pumbaa's perspective. A funny movie. I recommend it to all Disney fans.

Mulan 2: The One where the trio (chien-po,yao,and ling) get girlfriends. XD.  This movie was fun and it dove more into Mulan and Sheng's relationship.

Lady and the Tramp 2: A fun movie for the dog lover in all of us.

I guess that's it. That's all of the Disney sequels that are good. Now I didn't list Toy Story 2 and 3,because they are universaly liked. And Monsters University is just average (ok,but average).

7 All-Time Greatest TV Animation Companies That Ain't Disney

There's no denying the power of Disney,after all They are the Gods of Animation. But just because they reign supreme,doesn't mean that they're the only game in town. In the world of Television Animation,The Big D had many rivals,but only a select few were serious ones.

This is a list of The Top 7 All-Time Greatest TV Animation Companies that Ain't Disney.

Honorable Mentions -

Sony: Not much to Sony in the TV Animation biz nowadays,but back in the day they were cool. They gave us fun shows like Max Steel,Jackie Chan Adventures,Men In Black:The Series,The Big Guy and Rusty,Spectacular Spider-Man,and others. They've also co-produced The Real Ghostbusters through Columbia. Thanks for the memories guys.

Nicktoons: Nicktoons may suck now,but in the 90's and early 2000's,they were great. The Shows they aired were original and entertaining....well most of them at least. Now they suck and there is no turning back. Korra was the final good Nicktoon. Thankfully,there is a special block on TeenNick that airs these old Nicktoons. Plus,Nicktoons Network randomly airs Nicktoons from the early 2000's. So dispite being evil,Viacom actually Respects the classics.

Rankin/Bass: These guys didn't do much,but what they did was great. Thundercats is there most well known show. And who can forget those fun XMas specials,huh? Warner Bros. owns most of their stuff now.

#7 - Ruby-Spears Productions: After co-producing Scooby-Doo with Hannah Barbera,these guys were on top of the world. They pumped out plenty of animated jems in the 80's,like Thundarr and Alvin & the Chipmunks. The 90's on the other hand,were not a very good time for the company. Mega Man and a select few were the only good things Joe Ruby and Ken Spears gave us. And by 1996,the company fell into disaray due to heavy competition from Nicktoons,Disney,Warner Animation,and the renewed Hannah-Barbera. In late '96/early-'97,the company went belly up. Despite their ups and downs,RS Productions was a great company. Here's to you Joe and Ken.

#6 - Filmation: The 1st Ever TV Animation company. Despite their various flaws,you can't deny that Filmation was a pioneer in the Animation industry. He-Man,She-Ra,Fat Albert,Bravestarr,and many others. Some shows were good,some were bad. But the greatest show Filmation ever produced was She-Ra. She-Ra was the very first Animated Heroine who Didn't originate in comic books. Sadly,in mid-1989,the company became defunct. I was bound to happen,y'know. Still,this company is Legendary and will always hold a special place in the hearts of classic animation fans.

#5 - Cartoon Network Studios: The Reincarnation of Hannah-Barbera and H-B in reverse. Meaning,They started out pretty good,before becoming Blah! Anyway,during the early-2000's Hannah-Barbera kinda died off and Cartoon Network Studios took it's place,though that wasn't a bad thing. One of the 1st things they did was continue Johnny Bravo,Dexter's Lab,and The Power Puff Girls. They then created their own fun shows,such as Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Hi!Hi! Puffy Ami Yumi. CN Studios was great.

#4 - Marvel Animation: Ah,Marvel,my favorite Super Hero company. I always loved their cartoons...well,most of them. Besides their own stuff,they also co-produced Transformers G1 and G.I. Joe:Real American Hero with Hasbro,Muppet Babies with Jim Henson Productions,and Spectacular Spider-Man with Sony. I Love Marvel and will always prefer it's animated shows to DC's.

#3 - Warner Bros.Animation: Now,we are down to the final 3. Warner Bros. Animation may be weak now,but these dudes are still Legendary. From Looney Tunes to Superman to Batman:The Animated Series and Animaniacs to Hysteria and Teen Titans. Warner Bros. was a Goldmine for great Animated programing. Words can't decribe how amazing these guys were.

#2 - Hannah-Barbera: What can one say about Hannah-Barbera,they started out weak in the 60's and improved over time. H-B Productions gave us some of the most memorable (and iconic) cartoon characters of all time,such as Johnny Quest,The Flinstones,Yogi Bear,Space Ghost,and Scooby Doo. By the Early 90's,H-B Production's inproved greatly with a fresh new attitude and awesome shows like Swat Kats,2 Stupid Dogs,and The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest. They also helped kickstart Cartoon Network and even made some of their famous Cartoon Cartoons. Hannah-Barbera would later go defunct and replaced with Cartoon Network Studios. Fun fact: H-B Productions was the first company to create an Animated Sitcom,The Flinstones in 1967. This predates the Simpsons,which debut in 1988.

#1 - DiC: Ah,DiC,how we miss you. Anime-like qualities were part of this companies charm. Originally a French company,DiC became American in the mid-80's. The company would give us a slew of great cartoons from the mid-80's to the Late 90's. What a streak,huh? However the DiC company isn't without controversy. In 1989,they created a Video Game based cartoon (their 2nd one) called Captain N:The Game Master. Fans complained (and this was before the net) that non of the characters looked or acted like how they were supposed to.....and they were right. Plus,some of the plots were cliche,lame,and often times stupid. The next controversy was their handling of Sailor Moon. Unnessassary edits and other things made Fans of Sailor Moon facepalm. After dubbing R,Sailor Moon's North American rights went to Cloverway. The final controversy was catering to the Babies and Girly-Girls in the late 90's/early-2000's. However,despite all of this,DiC did more good than harm. DiC went out of buisness in the early 2000's,after a string of failures. They were soon bought out by Cookie Jar Entertainment (now dhx media). No matter what one tends to think of this company,there's no denying the great cartoons they gave us during their prime(the 80's and most of the 90's).

Well that is my list of Greatest Non-Disney TV Animation Companies. Many will disagree with my list,But I'm sticking with it. I still believe that DiC was the best.

ACF in 2016

I have some news reguarding The American Cartoon Federation. There will be changes. One change will be the end of The Destiny League Bios. These bios aren't doing anything for this site and they don't have much popularity either. So it's dead weight. Next,I'll be retiring 'The Ultimate Boss' segments. I really don't feel the need to continue them,especially since I have 'What Should Have Been' now. The Program Line-Up's will be part of that segment from now on.

Next,we will be adding on to the site. One such section will be an Art Showcase for Jason,once he improves on his art,he will be able to post them here. But I do have some rules,one of the biggest ones being No Ponies,No Exceptions!

So Jason,improve on your art so you can post them in your own section here at ACF.

Another thing that may be in the cards is Another 60 Minutes: Cartoon Edition. I had fun making the last one,I might make another.

More Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball content coming down the pike. More Lists too.

And then there's the Secret Project that Jason will be helping with. I won't going into details,but it will be about Cartoons and it will be Big.

The Eisner Era

Right now,Bob Iger's Disney is pissing me to no end. Recently they introduced even More girly-girl bullshit in the form of Mako Mermaids. Now they are giving us a full hour of Hannah Montana.

Basically Iger and Sherwood is telling the fans to go Suck It. A very very shameful way to start 2016.

So with that said,Let us take a small trip back to an era where Disney was Disney and the Bigshots didn't piss of Walt's legacy. Where Hannah Montana Mania was not even a thought (thank god). And where they rarely gave us things that we Didn't want.

Let's visit the greatest era of Disney.....The Eisner Era.

From 1985-2005 A man,a genus,ran the House of Mouse. His name was Michael Eisner.

Let's begin with the 1st big thing he did,Revitalized the Disney Channel. Back when it first launched in 1983,the Disney Channel was not very ideal...in fact,it was lame. But in 1986,Michael Eisner modernized it and it be came the #1 competitor to Viacom's Nickelodeon.

Also in 1986,he introduced the masses to Disney Television Animation. The 1st animated show (the Wuzzles) was a flop,but the 2nd one (Adventures of the Gummi Bears) proved to be a hit. However,in the fall of 1987,the world was introduced to what would be the most iconic animated series ever,Ducktales.

And after the creation of Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers in 1988,The Disney Afternoon was introduced. The Disney Afternoon was one of the most iconic weekday afternoon blocks in America. It definatly needs a revival. Anyway,the block would continue to grow until 1996,where it prompltly died.

Also in 1989,Eisner Resurrected Disney at the Box Office with the Little Mermaid,kickstarting the Disney Renaissance. More successes followed and eventually,Disney became popular again.

TV wise Disney was at it's strongest,with great shows and program direction. Box Office wise,it was also doing great....well up until the early 2000's,where Box Office numbers for the company were falling. TV wise,they were still golden though.

Theme park wise things weren't too bad,though in the late 90's,they did have troubles with a revitalised Universal Studios(disney's main rivals in the theme park biz).

The 90's were awesome for Disney TV Wise. In 1997,Eisner commisioned a cool SatAM block called One Saturday Morning,which debut a hear after the end of the Disney Afternoon. Then,in 1999,he created Toon Disney,the 24/7 all Animation network. Despite the name,the Netwirk was more like Boomerang than Cartoon Network,but that isn't excactly a bad thing.

Well the 90's came and went,and inner turmoil rocked the Walt Disney Company. Eisner was ousted and Bob Iger was chosen as a sucessor. This would eventually lead to the Disney Nightmare,but I'll talk about That another time.

Now then,you probally wanna know what Michael Eisner did to get ousted? In the early 2000's,Eisner wanted to bury Pixar and have people forget it existed.Why? I have no idea. Next was the constant string of Box Office flops. The Direct-to-DVD sequels also played a part. And Finally,Eisner started to neglect the Theme parks,Roy Jr. was very miffed at this.

So there you have it,the reasons why Eisner was ousted,while he did awesome work on the TV side of things,he began slipping up in the other areas.

But despite all of this,everyone will agree that the Eisner Era was Disney's greatest era.

The Disney Afternoon and One Saturday Morning gave us a crapload of great shows,Toon Disney gave us a fun nostalgia trip,The animated movies were top notch,and the Disney Channel had some pretty good content. In fact,Did you know that Kim Possible,aka the greatest Disney Channel show ever,was a product of the Eisner Era? It's true.

Despite all of it's epicness,I do have some gripes with the Eisner Era. My first gripe is that Eisner did kinda waste money on the Direct-to-DVD sequels. Though,I will admit,some of them were pretty fun. The other gripe is that he rarely did anything to improve the theme parks. That's sad.

Well there was my salute to the Eisner Era. Michael Eisner may have been lax during his final years,but there's no denying the awesome things he gave us prior to his fall.
